Coarse grained belief propagation for simulation of interacting quantum systems at all temperatures

open access: yes, 2009
We continue our numerical study of quantum belief propagation initiated in [Phys. Rev. A, 77 (2008), p. 052318]. We demonstrate how the method can be expressed in terms of an effective thermal potential that materializes when the system presents quantum ...

Decorated Dislocations against Phonon Propagation for Thermal Management [PDF]

open access: yesACS Applied Energy Materials, 2020
The impact of decorated dislocations on the effective thermal conductivity of GaN is investigated by means of equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations via the Green-Kubo approach. The formation of "nanowires" by a few atoms of In in the core of dislocations in wurtzite GaN is found to affect the thermal properties of the material, as it leads to a ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Comprehensive Modeling and Safety Protection Strategy for Thermal Runway Propagation in Lithium-Ion Battery Modules under Multi-Factor Influences

open access: yesBatteries
This paper addresses the challenge of thermal runaway propagation in lithium-ion battery modules and presents a safety protection design method based on a thermal propagation model. Firstly, it systematically analyzes the triggering mechanisms of thermal

Research on multi‐time scale modeling and interaction of electro‐thermal coupling integrated energy system

open access: yesEngineering Reports, 2023
With the enhancement of the coupling degree and interaction of the electro‐thermal integrated energy system, the fault propagation characteristics under multi‐time scale characteristics become more complex, which may trigger cascading failures and affect

Nonlocal nonlinear response of thermal Rydberg atoms and modulational instability in absorptive nonlinear media

open access: yes, 2015
Nonlinear and nonlocal effects are discussed in the interaction of laser fields with thermal Rydberg atoms in electromagnetically induced transparency configuration.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Propagation of thermal excitations in a cluster of vortices in superfluid 3He-B

open access: yes, 2011
We describe the first measurement on Andreev scattering of thermal excitations from a vortex configuration with known density, spatial extent, and orientations in 3He-B superfluid.

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...
