Experimental study on helical tubes heat transfer characteristics considering corrosion products

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2023
During the power operation of nuclear reactors, the corrosion products in the secondary circuit will deposit on the inside of Helical-coiled One-Through Steam Generator (H-OTSG) heat transfer tubes and form fouling.

A Cost-Driven Analysis of Thermal Performance in Power Modules

open access: yesEnergies
This paper offers an in-depth overview of the trade-off between thermal performance and assembly cost in state-of-the-art power modules (PMs). Since the development of the PM technological process is still in its infancy, PMs are typically designed and ...

Application of Reinforcing Thermocycling Treatment for Materials of Stamps Hot Deformation [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал інженерних наук, 2019
The paper is devoted to the search for technological methods of increasing the resistance of the stamp tool for hot deformation. New non-standard combinations of cyclization schemes and parameters of thermocycling processing within the regime were ...

A Comparative Investigation on the Microstructure and Thermal Resistance of W-Film Sensor Using dc Magnetron Sputtering and High-Power Pulsed Magnetron Sputtering

open access: yesMagnetochemistry, 2023
Traditional dc magnetron sputtering has a low ionization rate when preparing metallic thin films. With the development of thin film science and the market demand for thin film material applications, it is necessary to improve the density of magnetron ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

A Molecular Dynamics Study on the Effects of Nanostructural Clearances on Thermal Resistance at a Lennard-Jones Liquid-Solid Interface

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2011
The effects of the surface structures and the surface structural clearances at the nanometer scale on the thermal resistance at a Lennard-Jones liquid-solid interface, as well as the self-diffusion behaviors of liquid molecules, were investigated ...

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Non-spore-forming thermoduric bacteria vary considerably in thermal resistance in milk media between strains from the same genus

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science
: Thermoduric bacteria, defined as those that survive temperatures considerably above their maximum growth temperature, are enumerated in milk using the laboratory pasteurization count (LPC) test.
