Analysis of the Thermal Environment and Thermal Response Associated with Thermal-Acoustic Testing

31st Structures, Structural Dynamics and Materials Conference, 1990
A method is developed for predicting the radiant heat flux distribution produced by a bank of quartz radiant heaters which accounts for the specular and diffuse effects of a flat reflector or the diffuse effects of individual parabolic reflectors. This analysis is experimentally verified for a single unreflected lamp and a single lamp with a flat ...

Distributed thermal response test to analyze thermal properties in heterogeneous lithology

Geothermics, 2018
Abstract A fiber optic distributed thermal response test (DTRT) conducted in well-documented heterogeneous geology is combined with laboratory thermophysical measurements of cores and novel data analysis techniques to provide a detailed description of variability in subsurface heat transfer.

Thermal Response Tests and effects of geological heterogeneity

Rendiconti online della Società Geologica Italiana, 2014
The low enthalpy geothermal energy can significantly limit the use of fossil fuels and contribute effectively to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This source of energy can be exploited through geothermal plants where closed-loop geothermal probes represent the main configuration. These are easy to install, have a simplified authorization procedure and,

Diurnal variation in response to thermal stimulation: Mouse-hotplate test

Physiology & Behavior, 1977
Abstract Circadian changes in pain thresholds were assessed in 70-day-old CF1 male mice. The hotplate method was used. A different group of 15 mice was tested every 3 hr over a 48 hr interval. Response latencies were found to vary in a sinusoidal manner over a 24 hr interval.

Testing Transmission Lubricants: The Importance of Thermal Response

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part G: Journal of Aerospace Engineering, 1991
The performance of transmission systems, especially those of high criticality and specific torque capacity such as those in helicopters, depends strongly on lubricant behaviour. However, economic load capacity evaluation of lubricants involves the correlation of test results obtained from simple tests in order to predict service performance, which is
