Thermal sensation of children and its predictive evaluation method in Indonesia’s dry season

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering
There is a discrepancy between children’s thermal sensation in hot-humid climates near the equator and conventional thermal comfort indexes, such as the predicted mean vote (PMV).

Evaluation of thermal and vibration sensation in diabetic neuropathy [PDF]

open access: yesDiabetologia, 1985
Sensory evaluation of diabetic neuropathy was undertaken by a new technique for assessment of thermal sensitivity. The method is simple and reproducible, and the mean normal value of the lateral border of the foot was 6.0 degrees C (3.6-9.8 degrees C, 95% confidence limits).

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

ASSESSMENT OF THERMAL SENSATION OF RESIDENTS IN THE SOUTHERN GREAT PLAIN, HUNGARY [PDF]

open access: yesAerul şi Apa: Componente ale Mediului, 2014
This study examines the subjective thermal sensation characteristics of people living in Szeged, in the Southern Hungarian Great Plain. Micrometeorological measurements were conducted with two mobile stations in six urban public spaces during 70 days ...

TRPV1‐lineage neurons are required for thermal sensation [PDF]

open access: yesThe EMBO Journal, 2010
The ion-channel TRPV1 is believed to be a major sensor of noxious heat, but surprisingly animals lacking TRPV1 still display marked responses to elevated temperature. In this study, we explored the role of TRPV1-expressing neurons in somatosensation by generating mice wherein this lineage of cells was selectively labelled or ablated. Our data show that

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Thermal sensations of secondary schoolchildren in summer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Hygiene, 1973
SUMMARYSummer thermal sensations of secondary schoolchildren in England are compared with those earlier published for winter. Heat stress, contrary to expectation, is seen to decrease during the warm months, and neutrality is found to increase by some 6° F.

Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.
