Evolution mechanism of the physical properties and thermal conductivity of thermal shock granite under chemical immersion

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2022
To exploit the geothermal energy from low penetration rocks at a depth of 3–10 kilometers below the ground surface, an artificial geothermal system usually must be built.

The effect of Y2O3 addition on thermal shock behavior of magnesium aluminate spinel [PDF]

open access: yesScience of Sintering, 2009
The effect of yttria additive on the thermal shock behavior of magnesium aluminate spinel has been investigated. As a starting material we used spinel (MgAl2O4) obtained by the modified glycine nitrate procedure (MGNP).

Nanostructured zirconia layers as thermal barrier coatings [PDF]

open access: yesINCAS Bulletin, 2011
The coatings obtained by thermal spray are used both as antioxidant and connection materials (e.g. MCrAlY type alloys) as well as thermal barrier coatings (e.g. partially stabilized zirconia oxide with yttria oxide).

INCAS QUICK THERMAL TEST SHOCK INSTALLATION - QTS1 [PDF]

open access: yesINCAS Bulletin, 2009
From the assembly of the wear factors which act on the “hot parts” of the turbo engines, respectively on the protective coatings, the thermal shock acts the most perturbing. The behavior of the materials at thermal shock is evaluated at present on unique ...

Thermal shock resistance behavior of a functionally graded ceramic: Effects of finite cooling rate

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Mechanics Letters, 2014
This work presents a semi-analytical model to explore the effects of cooling rate on the thermal shock resistance behavior of a functionally graded ceramic (FGC) plate with a periodic array of edge cracks.

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.

Spatial variability and quantitative characterization of thermal shock damage in sandstone under different cooling temperatures

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
This research employs micro-CT scanning technology to analyze the porosity, pore fractal dimension, and spatial variability of sandstone preheated to 600 °C and subsequently cooled in water at varying temperatures (20 °C, 60 °C, 100 °C).
