Thermal Shock and High Temperature Wear Behaviors of SHM1302 Hard-Faced Layer [PDF]

open access: yesCailiao Baohu
To evaluate the high temperature application range of SHM1302 hard surface layer, the thermal shock resistance and high temperature wear resistance of SHM1302 hard surface layer were tested respectively, and the thermal shock and high temperature wear ...

Heat shock inhibits lipopolysaccharide-induced tissue factor activity in human whole blood

open access: yes, 2007
Background During gram-negative sepsis, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induces tissue factor expression on monocytes. The resulting disseminated intravascular coagulation leads to tissue ischemia and worsens the prognosis of septic patients.

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Artificial thermal shock cracks in WRe – A proof of concept study

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
Thermal shock cracks are frequently observed in environments where extensive thermal cycling at high amplitudes is common. Typical cases for such are first wall materials in proposed fusion reactors and rotating anodes for computed tomography scanners ...

Tailoring columnar microstructure of axial suspension plasma sprayed TBCs for superior thermal shock performance

open access: yesMaterials & Design, 2018
This paper investigates the thermal shock behavior of thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) produced by axial suspension plasma spraying (ASPS). TBCs with different columnar microstructures were subjected to cyclic thermal shock testing in a burner rig ...

Characterization of thermal shock and thermal fatigue behaviour of ceramics by means of laser irradiation

open access: yes, 2022
S.119-122Ceramics with high strength have been tested by means of laser irradiation. Thermal shock figures-of-merit have been calculated from the measured temperature field at the instant of fracture.

Mechanically Spatio‐Chimeric Fibrin Assembly Enables Vascular‐Integrated Muscle Reconstruction for Volumetric Muscle Loss Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
SPARC (spatio‐chimeric, plasma‐based, anisotropic, and shear‐responsive construct) that integrates myogenic and vascular microenvironments within a single construct. The dual‐modulus matrix directs aligned myotube formation and endothelial network development, enabling a vascularized muscle implant that seamlessly anastomoses with host tissue and ...

Regulation Between HSF1 Isoforms and HSPs Contributes to the Variation in Thermal Tolerance Between Two Oyster Congeners

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2020
Heat shock transcription factor 1 (HSF1) plays an important role in regulating heat shock, which can activate heat shock proteins (HSPs). HSPs can protect organisms from thermal stress. Oysters in the intertidal zone can tolerate thermal stress.

A study of the mechanism of formation and numerical simulations of crack patterns in ceramics subjected to thermal shock

open access: yes, 2012
The present work examines the mechanism of formation of thermal shock crack patterns in ceramics. An attempt has been made to bridge the gap between theoretical predictions and experimental data. A set of experiments on thin ceramic specimens yielded two-

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...
