Thermally sprayed coatings of YBa2Cu3O6+x
Abstract YBa2Cu3O6+x coatings have been hypersonic flame sprayed on alumina and yttria-stabilized zirconia substrates. As sprayed, the coatings are non-superconducting, with X-ray diffraction indicating a highly disordered structure. By annealing in oxygen between 900 and 950°C the coatings can be made superconducting.
