Control of intrinsic thermoacoustic instabilities using hydrogen fuel
Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2020This conceptual numerical study explores a possible strategy for control of unstable intrinsic thermoacoustic (ITA) modes. Control of the ITA feedback loop has not been discussed yet.

Thermoacoustic Instability in Two-Dimensional Fluid Complex Plasmas
Physical Review Letters, 2018Thermoacoustic instability in a fluid monolayer complex plasma is studied for the first time. Experiments, theory, and simulations demonstrate that nonreciprocal effective interactions between particles (mediated by plasma flows) provide positive thermal feedback leading to acoustic sound amplification.

Thermoacoustic Instability in Solid Rocket Motor: Non-Normality and Nonlinear Instabilities
48th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting Including the New Horizons Forum and Aerospace Exposition, 2010An analytical framework is developed to understand and predict the thermoacoustic instability in solid rocket motors, taking into account the non-orthogonality of the eigenmodes of the unsteady coupled system. The coupled system comprises the dynamics of the acoustic field and the propellant burn rate.

Thermoacoustic Instabilities in an Annular Rijke Tube
Volume 2: Combustion, Fuels and Emissions, Parts A and B, 2010Thermoacoustic instabilities are a major concern in the design of gas turbine combustors. Most modern combustion chambers have an annular shape with multiple circumferentially arranged burners and, accordingly, suffer often from azimuthal instability modes.

Reduced-order modelling of thermoacoustic instabilities in a two-heater Rijke tube
, 2020The topic of thermoacoustic instabilities in combustors is well-investigated, as it is important in the field of combustion, primarily in gas-turbine engines.

Time-Averaged Gradient Control of Thermoacoustic Instabilities
Journal of Propulsion and Power, 2003Active control of thermoacoustic instabilities has been an important topic of research for many years. In particular, adaptive-control approaches are continually investigated because of their potential ability to adjust to changing and unknown operating conditions. Most adaptive controllers are model based and require accurate knowledge of the plant to
