Feedback control of oscillations in combustion and cavity flows
This thesis considers the control of combustion oscillations, motivated by the susceptibility of lean premixed combustion to such oscillations, and the long and expensive development and commissioning times that this is giving rise to.

An Experimental PIV/POD Study on the Sequentially Coupled Flow Field of Swirl and Multiple Jets
The stepwise flow reconstruction induced by sequential coupling of swirl, primary jets, and dilution jets was experimentally investigated in a model combustor using high‐speed PIV and proper orthogonal decomposition (POD). Three nonreacting configurations were compared: pure swirl, swirl plus primary jets, and swirl with both primary and dilution jets.

ABSTRACT Perirenal adipose tissue (PRAT) contributes to the maintenance of elevated blood pressure through afferent nerves and serves as an important peripheral, modifiable target for hypertension management. This single‐center, prospective pilot trial assessed the feasibility and safety of a novel focused power ultrasound device for perirenal adipose ...

Detached Eddy Simulation (DES) of a Turbulent Premixed Flame Stabilized on a Bluff Body
ABSTRACT As the demand for net‐zero emissions intensifies, low‐emission fuels (LEFs) are increasingly explored for their potential to reduce pollutants in combustion systems. The present study investigates the flame dynamics and pollutant emissions (CO and NOx) of different LEFs using detached eddy simulations (DES), a method that offers better ...

This paper proposes an observer‐based adaptive output‐feedback boundary control to stabilize the vibrations of the moving cage of a dual‐cable mining elevator. This system is comprised of two mechanically jointed winding drums that drive the two cables through the floating sheaves to lift the cage.

Exploring liquid fuel combustion dynamics in a swirl burner using dynamic mode decomposition
Aero gas turbine engine combustors are transitioning from traditional Rich-Quench-Lean (RQL) staging to Lean Premixed Prevaporized (LPP) operation to reduce harmful NOx emissions and improve combustion efficiency.
