Experimental investigation on the thermoacoustic instability of boron/ethanol nanofluid fuel spray swirling flames

open access: yesApplications in Energy and Combustion Science
Nanofluid fuel has attracted the interest of researchers for decades due to its prominent combustion and propulsive properties. However, combustion instability is inevitable in propulsive systems, and little is known about how nanofluid fuel drive or ...

Acoustic Design Parameter Change of a Pressurized Combustor Leading to Limit Cycle Oscillations

open access: yesEnergies
When aiming to cut down on the emission of nitric oxides by gas turbine engines, it is advantageous to have them operate at low combustion temperatures. This is achieved by lean premixed combustion.

Review of acoustic field effects on flame dynamics and combustion applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology
Acoustic-flame coupling technology is an interdisciplinary frontier field investigating the complex interactions between sound waves and combustion. Generally, the acoustic field can be divided into two modes based on its relative position to the flame ...

On singularities and instability of reconstruction in thermoacoustic tomography

open access: yes, 2009
We consider the problem of thermoacoustic tomography (TAT), in which one needs to reconstruct the initial value of a solution of the wave equation from its value on an observation surface. We show that if some geometric rays for the equation do not intersect the observation surface, the reconstruction in TAT is not Hölder stable.
