Constructal Open Reactors for Thermochemical Energy Storage
Abstract This work documents the study of two concepts of open reactors for thermochemical energy storage. While classical thermal storage uses sensible or latent heat to store thermal energy, thermochemical energy storage uses an endothermic / exothermic chemical reaction. The process studied is based on the hydration and dehydration of

Superchaotropic binding of Keggin polyoxometalates (POMs) to non‐ionic biopolymers like cellulose ethers (CEs) stabilizes otherwise hydrolytically unstable POMs in aqueous solution and allows conversion of pH‐nonresponsive polymers into pH‐responsive soft materials. The pH‐driven conversion from plenary to lacunary POMs switches superchaotropic binding

A combination of ab initio molecular dynamics simulations and density functional theory calculations clarifies the pH‐dependent origin of the selectivity of nitrate reduction on Cu(100). ABSTRACT We investigate the nitrate reduction reaction (NO3 RR) on the Cu(100) surface using grand‐canonical density functional theory (GC‐DFT) under constant ...

Constructal design of thermochemical energy storage
This paper documents an analytical and numerical study of thermochemical energy storage in an open reactor. The analysis of the pressure losses and temperature distributions allows to predict what the geometrical features of the reactor should be. A numerical model simulating the thermochemical process is then presented and validated.
