Kinetics of thermochemical pretreatment of lignocellulosic materials
Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 1989The results of an experimental study of the acid hydrolysis of hardwood are presented in the form of values for the three parameters, activation energy, power on the acid concentration, and pre-exponen-tial factor, of the first order kinetic constants for each of the following reaction participants: xylan remaining, glucan remaining, xylose formed, and

Thermochemical resistive switching: materials, mechanisms, and scaling projections
Phase Transitions, 2011In this article, resistive switching based on the thermochemical mechanism (TCM) is reviewed. This mechanism is observed when thermochemical redox processes dominate over electrochemical processes. As the switching is based on thermal effects, it is inherently unipolar, i.e., the transitions between the resistive states can be induced by the same bias ...

Thermochemical material removal of diamond by solid iron and mischmetal
Production Engineering, 2009Solid iron and mischmetal (Ce, La, Fe, etc. alloy) were used to remove material from single crystal diamond. Contact experiments with diamond and mischmetal were carried out at 600°C and 750°C with hold times from 3 to 24 h. Contact experiments with diamond and iron were performed at 850°C with hold times of 3, 4 and 5 h.

Thermochemical Treatment of Porous Materials
1982The study of chromizing and aluminizing by pack cementation of nickel base alloy felts has resulted in some original observations due to the high porosity of the material. In particular, the exchange mechanisms between the powder and the felt, the localized depletion of the powder and the modification of its activity have been studied.

Appearance of thermochemical emf in some conducting materials
Combustion, Explosion and Shock Waves, 1982The appearance of an emf in conductors when they are heated is described by the Seebeck and Thompson effects. If some part of the surface of a conductor is covered by a pyrotechnical material and ignited, then while the pyrotechnical material is burning and after it has burned, an emf arises at the ends of the conductor.
