Thermochemical Transformations of Plant Materials
Fibre Chemistry, 2016Cherry pits and hazelnut shells were investigated as inexpensive alternative feedstocks for producing carbon absorbents via thermolysis and carbonization. It was found that the absorption properties of the obtained products depended on the chemical composition of the plant materials and the thermolysis and carbonization conditions.

Thermochemical aggregation method for disperse materials
Coke and Chemistry, 2010Laboratory data on the aggregation of small semicoke pieces from Kansko-Achinsk lignite are presented. In the proposed method, the semicoke is mixed with coking coal at the output from the semicoking reactor and is then pressed and cooled. It is assumed that the same principle may be used to obtain composites from other small-grain materials.

Materials and Reactors for Solar Thermochemical Processes
2022Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) is one of the most promising means of renewable technologies, with the intermittence of solar energy addressed as the main challenge. In the current thesis, materials and reactor/process technologies are studied for the development of solar thermochemical methods aiming at the production of energy carriers with zero ...

Thermochemical resistive switching: materials, mechanisms, and scaling projections
Phase Transitions, 2011In this article, resistive switching based on the thermochemical mechanism (TCM) is reviewed. This mechanism is observed when thermochemical redox processes dominate over electrochemical processes. As the switching is based on thermal effects, it is inherently unipolar, i.e., the transitions between the resistive states can be induced by the same bias ...

Thermochemical Analysis of Improvised Energetic Materials by Laser-Heating Calorimetry
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2022Thermochemical analysis of six improvised energetic materials was carried out using laser-heating calorimetry to demonstrate the feasibility of this methodology to provide distinctive thermal signatures and information on the material shelf life. The chemicals evaluated were erythritol tetranitrate, hexamethylene triperoxide diamine (HMTD), poor-man's ...
