Ionogel Actuators: A Review

open access: yesSmartBot, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
Ionogels dynamically and functionally couple ionic liquids with polymer networks, enabling multiscale programmable deformation and motion under electrical, magnetic, optical, thermal, humidity, and chemical stimuli. This article systematically elucidates the constituent components, structural design, and multiscale actuation mechanisms of ionogel ...

Colorimetric description of thermochromic printing inks

open access: yes, 2017
The dynamic colour of three commercial reversible thermochromic inks were studied. Thermochromic print-ing inks change their colour according to a change in temperature. The two types of thermochromic inks are based on leuco dyes and liquid crystals. The

Enhancing the Transparency–Temperature Trade‐Off Through Spectral Engineering and Radiative Cooling

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2026.
This study presents a scalable multilayer greenhouse film for radiative cooling that balances photosynthetically active radiation and cooling performance through spectral engineering via combining TiO2–polyethylene terephthalate scattering with ultraviolet–IR selective layers.

Dimensionality‐Driven Emerging Phenomena in Hybrid Metal Halides

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Emergent Phenomena Governed by Octahedral Connectivity and Dimensionality. Hybrid metal halides are unique among semiconductors in that their inorganic octahedral networks can be rationally assembled in 3D, 2D, 1D, and 0D forms, enabling dimensionality to assist as a powerful control knob over structure, electronic properties, excitations, and ...

Thermochromic coatings for overheating protection of solar thermal collectors - Towards industrial implementation - Annual Report 2019

open access: yes
With the advent of a new generation of switchable absorber coatings, overheating and the resulting stagnation of solar thermal collectors – until recently a common problem even in central European latitudes – can be successfully overcome.

Self‐Assembled Luminescent Au(I)–Adamantylamine Coordination Polymer Needles With Thermoresponsive Optical Properties

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 20, 27 May 2026.
A self‐assembled hydrophobic and red phosphorescent Au(I) coordination polymer (CP) was synthesized under mild conditions. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction (XRD) demonstrated linear Au(I) chains stabilized by aurophilic and hydrogen bonding interactions.

A Rare Thermochromic Zwitterionic Nickel (II) Complex of the Bulky Alpha Ligand 1,2-Bis-(di-tbutylphosphinomethyl)Benzene

open access: yesInorganics
The reaction of the bulky ligand 1,2-bis-(di-tert-butylphosphinomethyl)benzene, 1 with [Ni(DME)Cl2], 3, DME = 1,2-dimethoxyethane, at room temperature over extended periods, affords the new blue Zwitterionic complex [2-(C6H4-CH2P(H)tBu2-1-(CH2PtBu2NiCl3)]
