Ink tack stability readings of the offset thermochromic inks

open access: yesPigment and Resin Technology, 2019
PurposeThis paper aims to analyse the tack stability measurement readings of thermochromic offset inks. For this purpose, three reversible leuco-dye formed thermochromic inks were used to evaluate their tack. The used inks differ in their activation temperature, colour, drying mechanism, viscosity and chemical content.

Deinkability of thermochromic offset inks

Nordic Pulp and Paper Research Journal, 2016
This paper evaluates the deinkability of thermochromic offset inks. For this purpose, three thermochromic inks were printed on white uncoated paper, in laboratory conditions. These prints were mixed in equal shares and recycled by means of chemical deinking flotation under defined conditions in the laboratory according to INGEDE method 11p ...

Production of ink containing thermochromic dyestuff

Proceedings - The Eleventh International Symposium GRID 2022, 2022
Security inks are functional inks containing a binder and a special colorant used in money, checks and valuable documents. In security inks, thermochromic dyes, UV emitted, infrared emitted dyes can be used. Thermochromic dyestuffs provide different colors at different temperatures and ensure the requirements in the field of security.

Colorimetric properties of reversible thermochromic printing inks

Dyes and Pigments, 2010
The colorimetric properties of three, leuco dye-based thermochromic inks at 31 C activation temperature were studied. The inks had similar pigment particle size distribution and comparably thick microcapsule shells with similar stability against oxygen plasma etching. The colour of the inks was dependent on temperature as well as the thermal history of

Thermochromorph: Dynamic Relief Printing with Thermochromic Inks

open access: yesSIGGRAPH Asia 2024 Art Papers
Thermochromorph is a novel relief printing technique that produces multicolored images that transition into each other through changes in temperature. Our process utilizes two sets of CMYK thermochromic inks that exhibit complementary color-changing behaviors: one shifting from color to transparency, the other from transparency to color at the same ...

Stability of thermochromic printing inks

2010
Thermochromic (TC) printing inks change their colour regarding the change in temperature. One of the most frequently used TC material in printing inks are leuco dyes. This TC composite usually consists of a colour former (leuco dye), a colour developer and a solvent, protected in polymer capsules.
