Paperlike thermochromic display [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Physics Letters, 2007
The authors report the design and implementation of a paperlike, thermally activated display fabricated from thermochromic composite and embedded conductive wiring patterns, shaped from mixture of metallic nanoparticles in polydimethylsioxane using soft lithography. The display exhibits good image quality and ease of control.

f‐Block Element‐Based MOF Thin Films: A Platform for Luminescence, Sensing, and Energy Applications

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
f‐Block element–based metal–organic framework (f‐MOF) thin films offer exceptional potential for luminescent, sensing, and energy‐related applications. This review surveys recent progress in their synthesis, characterization, and functional implementation, emphasizing the diversity of available thin‐film fabrication strategies. The convergence of these

Functional polymer materials containing heavy group‐14 elements focusing on germanium and tin

open access: yesSmart Molecules, Volume 4, Issue 1, March 2026.
The synthesis, functions, and applications of the polymers containing heavy group 14 elements focusing on germanium and tin are outlined. Owing to their large atomic radii and weak binding energies, the polymers show unique properties: chromism, luminescence, carrier mobility, and reactivity to produce radials and higher coordinated states.

Engineering intelligent chiral silver cluster‐assembled materials for temperature‐triggered dynamic circularly polarized luminescence

open access: yesAggregate
The development of stimuli‐responsive circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) materials is quite attractive but challenging. Here, a pair of atomically precise enantiomers R/S‐Ag20 nanoclusters has been synthesized using chiral acid ligands.

Germination of Dracophyllum sayeri F.Muell. (Ericaceae), a vulnerable montane cloud forest endemic

open access: yesPlant Species Biology, Volume 41, Issue 2, March 2026.
Climate change in tropical montane cloud forest (TMCF) is predicted to impact species adapted to consistent, mild temperatures. We used a temperature gradient plate to investigate the effect of temperature on germination and early seedling survival of Dracophyllum sayeri (Ericaceae), a tree species endemic to TMCF in northeast Queensland, Australia ...

Dimensionally Resolved Nanostructures of an Atomically Precise and Optically Active 1D van der Waals Helix

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 8, 6 February 2026.
The ability to grow nanostructures based on inorganic helical crystals with long‐range order will enable a platform to realize physical states that arise from chirality. Herein, it is demonstrated that controlled vapor phase deposition of an atomically precise helical crystal, GaSI, into ultrathin 1D nanowires and quasi‐2D nanoribbons.

NMR studies of the polyphotochromic behaviour of biphotochromic compounds

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2004
NMR spectroscopy has been used to investigate the photochromism of four biphotochromic molecules in both the spirooxazine and naphthopyran families. The thermal evolution of photoproducts and their structural identification made it possible to observe ...

Spin‐Crossover Modulated Luminescence in Materials and Molecular Complexes

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, Volume 109, Issue 2, February 2026.
The synergistic coupling of spin‐crossover and luminescent properties holds great promise for the development of multifunctional and stimuli‐responsive molecular materials. This contribution provides a comprehensive overview of the field, surveying the possible coupling mechanisms, the various synthetic strategies and their potential applicability, as ...
