Thermodilution method for measuring cardiac output
European Heart Journal, 1990The thermodilution technique has been shown to measure cardiac output accurately. The technique violates ideal conditions for indicator dilution methods and is liable to gross errors unless certain requirements are strictly adhered to. The quantity of injectate must be accurately measured and injected rapidly.
