Thermodynamic consistency of kinetic data
Combustion, Explosion, and Shock Waves, 1989It is well known [1-4] that the rate constants of different elementary reactions are often interdependent. Relationships determined by the principle of detailed balancing exist between them [1-5] when microreversibility is valid and by the generalizations of that principle [5-8] when it is not (for example, in magnetic fields, during macroscopic ...

Methyl orange adsorption comparison on nanoparticles: Isotherm, kinetics, and thermodynamic studies
Dyes and pigments, 2019A batch equilibrium system has been used to investigate the adsorption of methyl orange (MO) on NiO and CuO nanoparticles (NPs). The effects of experimental conditions such as initial concentration, agitation time, solution pH and temperature were ...

Introduction: Thermodynamic Data Systematics
1993There are different sources of data available for establishing an internally consistent data set: calorimetric measurements, phase equilibrium data, measured thermophysical properties of a phase, and heat capacities and entropies estimated from lattice vibrational models, see, for example, Chopelas (1990a, b), Kieffer (1979a, b, c), Ghose et al. (1992,

Thermodynamic data on chalcogenide glasses
Journal of Thermal Analysis, 1976The temperature-dependence of the specific heat near to the glass temperature was investigated for several Te- and As-based chalcogenide glasses, the latent heats of melting and crystallization of the former alloys also being measured. No thermal change could be detected in the transformation of the As-based alloys from the solid to the liquid state.

Estimation of Thermodynamic Data
2001This chapter discusses methods of estimating the standard enthalpy of formation, entropy and heat capacity of molecules and free radicals, using both BENSON’s method and those of statistical mechanics.

Modelling of Thermodynamic Data
2002Model building is at best a dynamic process where model fitting and analysis may lead to new experiments and an improved model. The language of statistics is often used for evaluation of models. Statistics, however, is the science of random errors and random errors are not the main problem for model builders.
