Geometrothermodynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present the fundamentals of geometrothermodynamics, an approach to study the properties of thermodynamic systems in terms of differential geometric concepts.

Thermodynamic Equilibrium in the Expanding Universe [PDF]

open access: yesGeneral Relativity and Gravitation, 1999
We show that a relativistic gas may be at ``global'' equilibrium in the expanding universe for any equation of state $0 < p \leq /3$, provided that the gas particles move under the influence of a self-interacting, effective one-particle force in between elastic binary collisions.

Evaluation of Thermodynamic Parameters of 2, 4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid (2, 4-D) Adsorption

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2013
Thermodynamic parameters of 2, 4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2, 4-D) adsorption were evaluated by studying the adsorption equilibrium and kinetics of 2, 4-D at different temperatures.

The thermodynamics of phase equilibrium [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Physics, 1961
Abstract Thermodynamics is usually subdivided into a theory dealing with equilibrium and into one concerned with irreversible processes. In the present paper this subdibvision is carried further and the Gibbsian thermodynamics of phase equilibrium is distinguished from the thermodynamics of Clausius and Kelvin.

Precise Control of Quantum Confinement in Cesium Lead Halide Perovskite Quantum Dots via Thermodynamic Equilibrium.

open access: yesNano letters (Print), 2018
Cesium lead halide (CsPbX3) nanocrystals have emerged as a new family of materials that can outperform the existing semiconductor nanocrystals due to their superb optical and charge-transport properties. However, the lack of a robust method for producing

Fine-particle pH for Beijing winter haze as inferred from different thermodynamic equilibrium models

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2018
. pH is an important property of aerosol particles but is difficult to measure directly. Several studies have estimated the pH values for fine particles in northern China winter haze using thermodynamic models (i.e., E-AIM and ISORROPIA) and ambient ...

Thermodynamic equilibrium with acceleration and the Unruh effect [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We address the problem of thermodynamic equilibrium with constant acceleration along the velocity field lines in a quantum relativistic statistical mechanics framework.

Thermodynamic equilibrium analysis of steam methane reforming based on a conjugate solution of material balance and law action mass equations with the detailed energy balance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Energy Research, 2019
Thermodynamic equilibrium analysis of the steam methane reforming (SMR) process to synthesis gas was studied. For this purpose, the system equations of the material balance and the equations of law mass action were solved by dichotomy method.

Non-local Thermodynamic Equilibrium Stellar Spectroscopy with 1D and Models. I. Methods and Application to Magnesium Abundances in Standard Stars [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We determine Mg abundances in six Gaia benchmark stars using theoretical one-dimensional (1D) hydrostatic model atmospheres, as well as temporally and spatially averaged three-dimensional ( ) model atmospheres.
