Interactions between Molten High‐Silicon Electrical Steels and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines how several molten high‐silicon electrical steels interact with both conventional and recycled MgO–C refractories. For this, various immersion experiments are conducted. In addition to infiltration, a number of mechanisms are identified and explained that control the corrosion of the refractory material.

Thermodynamics of Mg–Al Order-Disorder Reaction in MgAl2O4-Spinel: Constrained by Prolonged Annealing Experiments at 773–1123 K

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
MgAl2O4-spinel has wide industrial and geological applications due to its special structural and physical–chemical features. It is presumably the most important endmember of complex natural spinel solid solutions, and therefore provides a structural ...

Extending the generalized Chaplygin gas model by using geometrothermodynamics

open access: yes, 2012
We use the formalism of geometrothermodynamics (GTD) to derive fundamental thermodynamic equations that are used to construct general relativistic cosmological models.

Microscopic Models for Chemical Thermodynamics [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Statistical Physics, 2005
We introduce an infinite particle system dynamics, which includes stochastic chemical kinetics models, the classical Kac model and free space movement. We study energy redistribution between two energy types (kinetic and chemical) in different time scales, similar to energy redistribution in the living cell.

NFDI MatWerk Ontology (MWO): A BFO‐Compliant Ontology for Research Data Management in Materials Science and Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the NFDI‐MatWerk Ontology (MWO), a Basic Formal Ontology‐based framework for interoperable research data management in materials science and engineering (MSE). Covering consortium structures, research data management resources, services, and instruments, MWO enables semantic integration, Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and ...

Thermodynamic Model for Predicting Phase Equilibrium of Refrigerant Gas Hydrates

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2016
This study aims to investigate the phase equilibrium of refrigerant gas hydrates based on thermodynamic theory. A thermodynamic model based on the van der Waals-Platteeuw model is used to predict the hydrate dissociation conditions.

A thermodynamic counterpart of the Axelrod model of social influence: The one-dimensional case [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We propose a thermodynamic version of the Axelrod model of social influence. In one-dimensional (1D) lattices, the thermodynamic model becomes a coupled Potts model with a bonding interaction that increases with the site matching traits.

Nitride‐Reinforced Metal Matrix Nanocomposite Powders Production by Plasma‐Assisted Thermochemical Treatment of Intermetallic Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study proposes a new methodology for producing metal matrix nanocomposites in the solid state. The process involves the plasma‐assisted thermochemical treatment of metallic alloy powders. As a proof‐of‐concept, TiN nanoparticles are synthesized directly on the surface of FeTi intermetallic powder particles, enabling the development of the ...

Diagrammatic analysis of the Hubbard model:Stationary property of the thermodynamic potential [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Diagrammatic approach proposed many years ago for strong correlated Hubbard model is developed for analyzing of the thermodynamic potential properties. The new exact relation between such renormalized quantities as thermodynamic potential, one-particle ...
