Electroactive Metal–Organic Frameworks for Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electrocatalysis is crucial in sustainable energy conversion as it enables efficient chemical transformations. The review discusses how metal–organic frameworks can revolutionize this field by offering tailorable structures and active site tunability, enabling efficient and selective electrocatalytic processes.

Thermodynamic modeling of stacking fault energy in Fe–Mn–C austenitic steels

open access: yesHigh Temperature Materials and Processes
A thermodynamic model to predict the stacking fault energy (SFE) of Fe–Mn and Fe–Mn–C austenite steels based on the two-sublattice method has been developed. The calculated Gibbs free energy change, phase transformation temperature, and SFE are basically

Representation of the Short-Range Interactions in Liquid Helium via Modified Hard Sphere Potentials

open access: yes, 2001
In this paper we propose five different modifications of the hard sphere potential for the modeling a short-range repulsion and the calculation of thermodynamic and transport properties of liquid He4.

Issuing New Stock in ANCSA Corporations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The stacking fault energy (SFE) of seven austenitic stainless steels with the compositions x(Cr)=20 at%, 8≤x(Ni)≤20 at% and 0≤x(Mn)≤8 at% have been calculated at room temperature using the thermodynamics-based Olson and Cohen modeling approach [1 ...

Condensate of $\mu$-Bose gas as a model of dark matter

open access: yes, 2018
Though very popular, Bose-Einstein condensate models of dark matter have some difficulties. Here we propose the so-called $\mu$-Bose gas model ($\mu$-BGM) as a model of dark matter, able to treat weak points.

On‐Surface Indigo‐Based Bimolecular Coordination Networks with Programmable Regular or Vitreous Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...

Quasichemical Models of Multicomponent Nonlinear Diffusion

open access: yes, 2011
Diffusion preserves the positivity of concentrations, therefore, multicomponent diffusion should be nonlinear if there exist non-diagonal terms. The vast variety of nonlinear multicomponent diffusion equations should be ordered and special tools are ...

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Backbone Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Efficient Sacrificial Hydrogen Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, a ‘single‐component’ organic semiconductor photocatalyst is presented in which a molecular donor is bonded to a polymer acceptor. The resultant material demonstrates exceptional photocatalytic activity for hydrogen evolution in aqueous triethylamine with an outstanding external quantum efficiency of 38% at 420 nm.
