Thermodynamic stability of cosmological models

Physical Review D, 1986
The thermodynamics of homogeneous isotropic universes (kg0, \ensuremath{\Lambda}g0) with conformal scalar radiation is analyzed, in analogy with the thermodynamics of black holes in a cavity, as the mutual equilibrium between two subsystems (quantum thermal bosons and semiclassical conformal metric modes) fluctuating under an energy constraint ...

Dynamical stability and thermodynamic stability in irreversible thermodynamics

Journal of Mathematical Physics, 1991
By constructing a nonlinear model, the relationship between thermodynamic stability and dynamical stability in classical irreversible thermodynamics is investigated. It will be proven that the thermodynamic equilibrium state is thermodynamically stable if it is dynamically asymptotically stable.

Thermodynamic Stability of Ribonuclease B

Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2000
The thermodynamic stability of pancreatic ribonuclease B (RNase B), which possesses identical protein structure of pancreatic ribonuclease A (RNase A), but differs by the presence of a carbohydrate chain attached to Asn 34, was studied by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) at different pH conditions.

Stability of interconnected thermodynamic systems

IEEE Conference on Decision and Control and European Control Conference, 2011
In this paper, a formulation of thermodynamic systems in terms of contact geometry is proposed and a systematic approach to the description of interconnected thermodynamic systems is developed. The paper presents a number of results on the stability of interconnected thermodynamic systems.

THE LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS AND THERMODYNAMIC STABILITY OF THE MODIFIED CHAPLYGIN GAS

Modern Physics Letters A, 2010
Laws of thermodynamics have been examined for the universe filled with a perfect fluid, obeying an adiabatic equation of state p = γρ-A/ρα (called modified Chaplygin gas), where γ, A and α are positive constants and ρ and p are energy density and thermodynamic pressure respectively.

Thermodynamic stability of biomolecules and evolution

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 2017
The thermodynamic stability of biomolecules in the perspective of evolution is a complex issue and needs discussion. Intra molecular bonds maintain the structure and the state of internal energy (E) of a biomolecule at "local minima". In this communication, possibility of loss in internal energy level of a biomolecule through the changes in the bonds ...

The thermodynamic stability of the LaBr 4 − ion

Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2008
The thermodynamic stability of the LaBr 4 − anion was for the first time studied by high-temperature mass spectrometry and nonempirical quantum-chemical methods.

Thermodynamic stability of Pt8V

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2006
Abstract The thermodynamic stability of the ordered Pt 8 V phase has been experimentally investigated for the first time. Pt 8 V is shown to be stable but the ordering kinetics are sluggish, in common with other A 8 B phases. The order–disorder temperature T c is determined to be 810 ± 10 °C.
