Thermodynamics of micellization of tetraethylammonium perfluorooctylsulfonate in water
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2006Conductivity, density, and sound velocity measurements as functions of temperature were made on tetraethylammonium perfluorooctylsulfonate solutions to determine the Krafft point, the dependence on temperature of the critical micelle concentration, the micellar ionization degree, and several thermodynamic properties: Gibbs free energy, enthalpy and ...

Thermodynamics of ionic surfactant micelle
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1984Abstract A Gibbs-Duhem equation for an ionic surfactant micelle system was derived. The derived Gibbs-Duhem equation took the effect of micelle dispersion and the electrical intermicellar interaction into consideration and assumed the sphericity and monodispersity of micelles.

Thermodynamic Evidence of Cyclodextrin−Micelle Interactions
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2002The enthalpy of transfer (ΔHt) of hydroxypropyl-α-cyclodextrin (HP-α-CD), hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD), and β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) from water to the aqueous C6F13CO2Na and C7F15CO2Na solutions were determined in the pre- and post-micellar regions. The behavior of the macrocycles is system specific.

Thermodynamic properties of water in reverse micelles
2007Microcalarimetry is a powerful tool in many research fields; it has been widely utilized to investigate the processes inducing change in the thermodynamic properties of the sample and, thus, it has played an important role in the study of the liquid state, especially in gaining more information on solute-solute interaction in liquid mixtures.

Thermodynamic Study of Bile Salts Micellization
Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2014The aggregation process of sodium cholate, NaC, sodium deoxycholate, NaDC, sodium glycocholate, NaG, sodium glycodeoxycholate, NaDG, sodium taurocholate, NaT, and sodium taurodeoxycholate, NaDT in aqueous solution has been investigated at several temperatures, in the absence and in the presence of NaCl 0.15 mol kg–1.

Thermodynamics and bending energetics of toruslike micelles
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2008The self-assembly of surfactants forming toruslike or toroidal micelles has been investigated from a theoretical point of view, in particular the structural behaviour and stability of tori in terms of the three bending elasticity constants spontaneous curvature (H(0)), bending rigidity (k(c)) and saddle-splay constant (k(c)).

Thermodynamics of micellization of fluorocarbon surfactants
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 1980Abstract The free energy, enthalpy, and entropy of micellization of fluorocarbon surfactants were determined from the surface tension-log concentration curves at various temperatures. Plots of the logarithm of the critical micelle concentration versus 1/ T (where T is the absolute temperature) were not linear, indicating a decrease of enthalpy of ...

On the Thermodynamics of Reverse Micelles: Effect of Water on Micellization
Colloid Journal, 2020Water may be involved in reverse micelle formation either in the form of a hydration shell or as a solubilisate. Both cases have been analyzed within the framework of a theory based on the mass action law and the definition of the critical micelle concentration (CMC) via the constant of this law.

Thermodynamics of nonionic polymer—micelle association
Colloids and Surfaces, 1985Abstract A quantitative treatment is developed to describe the competitive equilibria of micellization and formation of polymer—micelle complexes in aqueous solutions. The complexation of nonionic polymer with anionic and nonionic surfactants and their binary mixtures is examined.

Study of Micelle Properties and Thermodynamics of Micellization of the Benzethonium Chloride
Tenside Surfactants Detergents, 2012Abstract The self-association of benzethonium chloride (BZCl) in aqueous solution has been analyzed as a function of temperature. The critical micelle concentration (CMC.), the degree of counterion binding (β) and thermodynamic parameters of micellization (molar Gibbs energy, enthalpy and entropy of micellization) were determined using ...
