The Question of Thermoelectric Devices Electrical Resistance—A Practical Investigation From a Peltier Effect (Thermoelectric Cooler/Thermoelectric Heater) Perspective

open access: yesHeat Transfer, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 1770-1779, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Thermoelectric devices (TEDs) intrinsic electrical resistance is fundamental to its operation. This internal electrical resistance value negatively affects a TED's performance when it is operated as a thermoelectric cooler (TEC), and positively affects a TED when operated as a thermoelectric heater (TEH).

Bipolar photovoltaic effect in InSe/MoO3 van der Waals heterostructure for spontaneous light polarization detection

open access: yesInfoMat, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
Bidirectional photo response in a two‐dimensional heterojunction photodetector controlled by light wavelength and polarization. Abstract Polarization is one of the most fundamental properties of light. Traditional polarization‐sensitive photodetectors, however, are limited in their ability to fully extract this information, as they translate the two ...

Enhancing Aluminum Matrix Composites With High‐Entropy Alloys: A Study of Mechanical, Thermal, and Electrical Properties via Powder Metallurgy

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates the incorporation of high‐entropy alloys (HEAs) into aluminum matrix composites (AMCs) via powder metallurgy to improve their mechanical, thermal, and electrical properties. Significant improvements in mechanical performance were observed by systematically varying HEA content from 0% to 30%.

Triplet 4‐Nitrenemethyl‐Pyridine‐N‐Oxide: A Model Alkyl Nitrene Isolated in Cryogenic Matrices

open access: yesJournal of Physical Organic Chemistry, Volume 39, Issue 5, May 2026.
The simplest triplet alkyl nitrene bearing a pyridine‐N‐oxide moiety was generated by direct irradiation (λ > 350 nm) of the corresponding azide in an Ar matrix at 15 K. Quantum tunneling 1,2‐H shift to the corresponding imine is thermodynamically favorable but does not occur due to a high‐energy barrier (~36 kcal mol−1).

Additive‐Free Edge‐Functionalized Graphene Dough

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
An edge‐functionalized, few‐layer graphene dough, synthesised directly from graphite, provides an additive‐free, processable graphene for moldable and printed electronic and magnetic applications. ABSTRACT The exploitation of graphene's extraordinary properties depends on finding new ways to synthesize and process it without disrupting its fundamental ...
