Miniaturized Thermoelectric Cooler
Heat Transfer, Volume 1, 2002Vapor-deposited bismuth telluride (n-type) and antimony telluride (p-type) films are used in a micro, column-type, patterned thermoelectric cooler. The optimum number of thermoelectric pairs and operating current are predicted. Such devices contain a number of metal/thermoelectric and metal/elecrical-insulator interfaces.

Eighteenth International Conference on Thermoelectrics. Proceedings, ICT'99 (Cat. No.99TH8407), 2003
To date the advantages of solid-state coolers such as high reliability, low-mechanical noise, and localized temperature control have often been negated by their inefficiency and the frequent need for multiple stages to achieve the desired temperature difference. While recent research on novel materials and low-dimensional structures raises the hope for

MODELING AND ANALYSIS OF NANOTIPS FOR THERMOELECTRIC COOLERS
International Journal of Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering, 2005Thermoelectric cooling system can be used in many applications. The properties of structured point contact at the cold end affect the performance of thermoelectric cooling. The performance of metal point junctions as a function of tip radius show that the smaller the tip radius, the better the figure of merit.

Thermoelectric cooler for infrared detectors
SPIE Proceedings, 1994A thermoelectric Peltier device for cooling HgCdTe 2D focal plane arrays was developed. Reliability, accurate temperature control and absence of vibration while operating make the thermoelectric cooler very attractive for cooling IR components.

Extruded materials for thermoelectric coolers
Inorganic Materials, 2008We have optimized the compositions of p-type thermoelectric materials based on solid solutions between bismuth and antimony tellurides with high thermoelectric figures of merit in different temperature ranges between 100 and 300 K. The materials have been prepared by extrusion and have been characterized by microstructural analysis.

Physical processes in thermoelectric coolers
Proceedings ICT2001. 20 International Conference on Thermoelectrics (Cat. No.01TH8589), 2002A usage of the thermoelectric method of refrigeration is one of the best practical methods of cooling chips and other electronic components. The miniaturization of electronic elements requires the miniaturization of thermoelectric coolers for such electronics. Modern thermoelectric coolers may have a thickness of microns.

Reliably characterizing the performance of thermoelectric coolers
Review of Scientific InstrumentsSolid-state thermoelectric cooling is a promising solution for localized thermal management. Accurate evaluation of the cooling performance is essential for optimization and design of high-performance thermoelectric coolers. However, conventional methods fail to capture performance under actual operating conditions.

Modelling of a microelectromechanical thermoelectric cooler
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 1999We represent the modelling of a thermoelectric cooler, which is designed by using micromachining and thin film technology. The cooler fabrication is compatible with standard semiconductor technology. Therefore, it can be integrated in microelectronic circuits.

Distributed control of thermoelectric coolers
The Ninth Intersociety Conference on Thermal and Thermomechanical Phenomena In Electronic Systems (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37543), 2004Thermoelectric refrigeration has been studied for use in electronics cooling applications. Because of their low efficiency, a significant amount of additional heat is produced that must be removed from the device by passive means. However, even well-designed passive heat removal systems are faced with physical limitations and can not dissipate ...
