Thermoelectric AC Josephson effect

open access: yes
A temperature gradient $ΔT$ across a Josephson junction induces a thermoelectric current. We predict the AC Josephson effect is activated when this current surpasses the junction's critical current. Our investigation of this phenomenon employs the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau theory framework in proximity to the critical temperature.

Analysis of thermoelectric properties of high-temperature complex alloys of nickel-base, iron-base and cobalt-base groups [PDF]

open access: yes
The thermoelectric properties alloys of the nickel-base, iron-base, and cobalt-base groups containing from 1% to 25% 106 chromium were compared and correlated with the following material characteristics: atomic percent of the principle alloy constituent;

Phonon Engineering in Ultrathin Sn Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
When embedded in multilayer structures, ultrathin Sn layers demonstrate strongly modified vibrational density of states (VDOS). This allows engineering a drastic increase of the Lamb‐Mössbauer factor fLM$f_{\text{LM}}$ and thereby of the cross‐section for coherent excitation of the ultrasharp nuclear resonance of 119Sn$^{119}{\rm Sn}$. This enables the

The thermoelectric conversion efficiency problem: Insights from the electron gas thermodynamics close to a phase transition

open access: yesSciPost Physics Core
The bottleneck in modern thermoelectric power generation and cooling is the low energy conversion efficiency of thermoelectric materials. The detrimental effects of lattice phonons on performance can be mitigated, but achieving a high thermoelectric ...

Roll‐to‐Roll Manufacturing of Flexible Thermoelectric Semiconductors Using Low‐Level Direct‐Current Sputtering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Roll‐to‐roll direct‐current sputtering enables room‐temperature manufacture of flexible bismuth telluride thermoelectric films. By identifying a low‐power deposition window that suppresses charge‐induced arcing, this work links sputtering conditions to film structure, charge transport, and thermoelectric performance, achieving a room‐temperature figure

Expansion of Thermoelectric Effect

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract The thermoelectric effect of two metals was discovered by T. J. Seebeck, a German physicist. This research extends the thermoelectric effect of Seebeck's two metals. In this research, the thermoelectric effect of 16 materials, including soil, was tested.

Thermoelectric performance of quantum dots embedded in an Aharonov-Bohm ring: a Pauli master equation approach

open access: yesScientific Reports
Within linear response theory using the Pauli master equation approach, we have investigated the thermoelectric properties of quantum dots (QDs) embedded in an Aharonov-Bohm (AB) ring weakly coupled to two metallic electrodes.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...
