Measurements of thermoelectric properties of a thermoelectric cooler

Energy Conversion and Management, 1983
Abstract The effective thermoelectric parameters of a single stage cooler were measured as a function of temperature and compared with those of the n and p type materials from which the thermoelements were prepared. The performance of the cooler was calculated by a computerized iterative process using measured parameters and compared with ...

Thermoelectric properties and microstructure of Mg3Sb2

Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 2006
Abstract Mg3Sb2 has been prepared by direct reaction of the elements. Powder X-ray diffraction, thermal gravimetric, differential scanning calorimetery, and microprobe data were obtained on hot pressed samples. Single phase samples of Mg3Sb2 were prepared and found to contain oxygen at the grain boundaries and to lose Mg and oxidize at temperatures ...

Thermoelectric properties of mesoscopic superconductors

Physical Review B, 1996
We develop a general framework for describing thermoelectric effects in phase-coherent superconducting structures. Formulas for the electrical conductance, thermal conductance, thermopower, and Peltier coefficient are obtained and their various symmetries discussed. Numerical results for both dirty and clean Andreev interferometers are presented.

Thermoelectrical properties of superlattices

XVI ICT '97. Proceedings ICT'97. 16th International Conference on Thermoelectrics (Cat. No.97TH8291), 2002
Recent investigations show that thermoelectric properties of superlattices, where electronic density of states is two-dimensional, may be greatly improved. In our report the calculations of thermoelectric properties of Si/Ge superlattices are proposed. Superlattice band structure was calculated in the frame of the tight-binding model (sp/sup 3/s/sup */)

Thermoelectric properties of CoSb3

Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2001
Abstract The typical skutterudite structure compound CoSb 3 was prepared by arc melting followed by sintering. The samples were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction method, electron probe microanalysis (EPMA), and the thermoelectric properties such as the thermal diffusivity, electrical resistivity, and Seebeck coefficient were measured in the ...

Thermoelectric properties of Ag3AuTe2

Journal of Applied Physics, 2000
Electronic structure calculations predict Ag3AuTe2 to be a small-band-gap semiconductor. Polycrystalline samples of the pure and doped materials have been synthesized, and the physical properties are reported. Thermoelectric power measurements indicate that pure Ag3AuTe2 is a p-type material with a very large room-temperature Seebeck coefficient of 530

Thermoelectric Property in Multiferroics

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
Thermoelectricity has gained special interest due to its potential applications, especially the advancements in the electronic devices with very low power consumption. Thermoelectric materials can be used to make energy conversion devices that generate power from thermal sources. Multiferroic oxides, in particular cobaltates, have been actively studied

Thermoelectric properties of Bi2O2Se

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2010
Abstract Bi 2 O 2 Se was synthesized from Bi 2 Se 3 and Bi 2 O 3 by solid state reaction in an evacuated quartz ampoule. The product crystallizes in the tetragonal type lattice and X-ray pattern displays lines of the Bi 2 O 2 Se only. Samples for thermoelectric property measurements were prepared using hot pressing in rectangular graphite dies. The
