Fatigue analysis of butt welded AH36 steel joints: Thermographic Method and design S–N curve

open access: yesMarine Structures, 2009
The traditional methods of fatigue assessment of welded joints have some limitations, and are extremely time consuming. In order to overcome these difficulties, the Thermographic Method (TM), based on thermographic analyses, has been applied to predict ...

Fatigue assessment of a marine structural steel and comparison with Thermographic Method and Static Thermographic Method

Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 2019
AbstractFatigue properties are of fundamental importance and extremely time consuming to be assessed. The aim of this research activity is to apply the Thermographic Method (TM) and the Static Thermographic Method (STM) during fatigue and tensile tests to correlate the temperature trend to the fatigue properties of an S355 steel.

A Computational Method for Breast Abnormality Detection Using Thermographs

2020 IEEE 33rd International Symposium on Computer-Based Medical Systems (CBMS), 2020
Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in the world. Early diagnosis and treatment increase the patient's chances of healing. The temperature of cancerous tissues is generally higher than that of healthy neighbouring tissues, making thermography an option to be considered in screening strategies for this type of cancer.

Infrared thermograph studies of cortical circulation: Evaluation of the method

Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1966
Abstract The infrared thermograph recording method is evaluated for its possible use in neurophysiological studies. The results show that the thermographic method is able to detect temperature changes at the cortex brought about by administration of drugs, and provides information about the spatio-temporal pattern of the changes.

Thermographic method for metallic surface roughness evaluation

Proceedings of the 2022 International Conference on Quantitative InfraRed Thermography, 2022
The aim of this paper was to investigate the possibility of using a thermographic camera for metallic surface roughness evaluation. First, the surface of a metal plate containing 6 rectangular areas of known roughness was illuminated using an infrared source. Next, the reflected radiation temperature of those 6 areas was measured.

Thermographic methods applied to industrial materials

Canadian Journal of Physics, 1986
Steady-state, or quasi-steady-state thermography is a well-known industrial inspection technique that has not so far been widely used in the nondestructive examination of materials. However, recent advances in infrared thermal-imaging systems have greatly broadened the range of possible uses through video-recording techniques that enable transient ...

Calibration method of a thermographic system for medical applications

SPIE Proceedings, 2005
The process of medical unconventional diagnosis is started by the user through a search process of appearance of some possible areas of abnormal temperatures which can be seen on a suitable monitor and the comparison of these areas with the unaffected ones. To guarantee an increased successful of this search process is necessary that the system design
