The effect of di-(-2-ethyl hexyl) phthalate (Dehp) as plasticizer on the thermal and mechanical properties of pvc/pmma blends

open access: yesPolímeros, 2014
Plasticizers play a key role in the formulation of polymers and in determining their physical properties and processability. This study examines the effect of di(2-ethyl hexyl)phthalate (DEHP) as plasticizer on the thermal and mechanical properties of ...

Co-firing of biomass with coals Part 1. Thermogravimetric kinetic analysis of combustion of fir (abies bornmulleriana) wood [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The chemical composition and reactivity of fir (Abies bornmulleriana) wood under non-isothermal thermogravimetric (TG) conditions were studied. Oxidation of the wood sample at temperatures near 600 A degrees C caused the loss of aliphatics from the ...

Thermogravimetric analysis of gasification and pyrolysis of algae biomass [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
In the present paper, the case of the brown algae Saccharina japonica from Aniva Bay (Sea of Okhotsk, Sakhalin Island) was investigated by a thermogravimetric analysis up to 700°C at different atmospheres.

Functionalization of synthetic talc-like phyllosilicates by alkoxyorganosilane grafting [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A range of talc-like phyllosilicates were prepared via a hydrothermal synthesis performed at five different temperatures from 160 to 350 °C. The organization of the lattice and the degree of crystallinity of the new materials were evaluated by different ...

Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Synchrotron Radiation Pair Distribution Function Analysis of Gels in Cements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The analysis of atomic ordering in a nanocrystalline phase with small particle sizes, below 5 nm, is intrinsically complicated because of the lack of long-range order.

Multifunctional Crushing and Piezoresistive Self‐Sensing in Conductive Epoxy/CNT‐Coated Polyetherimide TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports lightweight polyetherimide triply periodic minimal surfaces lattices coated with carbon nanotube‐reinforced epoxy that combine mechanical robustness with self‐sensing. The conformal coating enhances stiffness, strength and energy absorption while enabling reliable strain monitoring.

Thermogravimetric and differential thermogravimetric analysis of effect of areal compositional gradient on combustion kinetics of Mexican extra-heavy crude oil

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2020
Numerous studies have contributed to a better understanding of the in-situ combustion process that have allowed to determine the most suitable conditions to carry out this process in reservoirs from volatile to extra-heavy crude oils. One of the elements

Static and dynamic aspects of coupling between creep behavior and oxidation on MC2 single crystal superalloy at 1150 °C [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Creep tests were performed on thin wall specimens made of MC2 single crystal superalloy at 1150 °C and under controlled atmosphere. The results highlight the deleterious oxidation effect on creep properties.

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.
