Thermogravimetric study and evolved gas analysis of new microalga using TGA-GC-MS
Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery, 2018The growing concerns over the environmental challenges emanating from the use of fossil fuels continue to generate interest in finding competitive and sustainable alternatives. This study presents physicochemical characteristics, thermal decomposition profile and kinetics of a new Botryococcus sp. of microalga isolated from Endau-Rompin, Malaysia.

Abstract Garrotxa cheese was pressurised at 400 MPa for 5 min to shorten ripening accordingly to previous studies. Moisture content was followed along ripening. Moisture in cheese was divided into free and bound water according to the weight loss rate during drying in a TGA oven.

International Scientific Journal of Engineering and ManagementThe study investigates the thermal decomposition behavior of starch extracted from banana pseudo-stem using Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). In banana pseudo-stem starch, TGA reveals a multi-stage degradation process. The gelatinization temperature of starch was between 54.04° C – 112.16° C.
