This numerical study investigates the enhancement of heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics in rectangular channels with transverse corrugations and longitudinal winglet vortex generators. Numerical simulations cover a range of Reynolds numbers (Re) (5000–20000) using channels with uniform wall heat flux and fixed wavelength.

Biocomposites produced with agro‐industrial waste from castor hulls and pinewood bonded with urea‐formaldehyde adhesive, intended for application as thermal insulation in buildings. ABSTRACT The production of composite particleboards with agricultural waste has been the focus of many studies that aim to address environmental problems due to waste ...

Experimental Study on the Thermohydraulic Performance of Oil-Cooled Heat Sinks for Power Electronics
Using the lubrication oil in (hybrid) electric vehicles as both coolant and lubricant, thereby eliminating the need of a separate coolant circuit, can improve the overall efficiency of the cars. However, oil exhibits inferior heat transfer properties compared to conventional coolants (mainly higher viscosity, lower thermal conductivity and lower ...

Thermohydraulic effects of safety relief valves
An experimental study of the thermohydraulic performance of the safety relief valve (SRV) is presented. The study showed that the single and two-phase conditions upstream the SRV cause significant changes in the flow through the SRV.

ABSTRACT An experimental campaign was undertaken to demonstrate the applicability of the Bouc–Wen hysteretic model to describe the hysteretic system of the recent Framatome dimple‐less spacer grid design for Pressurized Water Reactors. The experimental setup subjected a reduced‐length fuel rod, supported at both ends by dimple‐less grids, to forced ...

Review on Coupled Thermo-Hydraulic Performance of Nanofluids and Microchannels
As electronic components continue to be miniaturized, the heat flux density continues to increase. Scholars have proposed the use of microchannel heat sinks (MCHS) to dissipate heat from devices with high heat flux density, and have pointed out that the ...

In this study, the thermohydraulic performance of rectangular‐winglet vortex generators (VGs) with different hole configurations (a central hole, dual‐edge holes, a leading‐edge hole, and a trailing‐edge hole) was numerically investigated. In addition, airflows through solar air heater ducts enhanced with these VGs were simulated using the realizable k‐

Computer analysis of the thermohydraulic measurements on CEA dummy cables performed at CEN-Grenoble [PDF]
We present here the validation of two computer models for the ITER CICCs based on experimental data produced at CEN-Grenoble. The models, implemented in two finite element computer codes, describe compressible helium flow in a Cable-in-Conduit with central cooling hole.
