Microstructural and mechanical characterizations of new Ni-Ti endodontic instruments

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
NiTi alloys have been used for many years in dentistry, especially in endodontology. High flexibility of NiTi alloys, compared to the stainless steel one, has made of NiTi the alloy of choice for the new generation of shaping files.

Tensile Properties of Polypropylene Composites Reinforced with Mechanical, Thermomechanical, and Chemi-Thermomechanical Pulps from Orange Pruning

open access: yesBioResources, 2015
This paper explores the evolution in the tensile strength of orange pruning fiber-reinforced polypropylene composites. The exploitation of these pruning’s can effectively avoid incineration, with the consequence of CO2 emissions and fire risk, while ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Affecting the Properties of Copper–Graphene Electroconductive Composite by Severe Plastic Deformation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Copper‐based composites enhanced with carbon feature convenient mechanical properties and favorable electric conductivity. Processing via deformation and thermomechanical treatments can introduce advantageous microstructures further enhancing their performance. Herein, copper–graphene powder‐based composites are directly consolidated via rotary swaging

Strength Enhancement of Superduplex Stainless Steel Using Thermomechanical Processing

open access: yesMetals, 2021
The impact of microstructure evolution on mechanical properties in superduplex stainless steel UNS S32750 (EN 1.4410) was investigated. To this end, different thermomechanical treatments were carried out in order to obtain clearly distinct duplex ...

Researches regarding the thermomechanical treatments influence on the structure and characteristics of the aluminium alloys for aeronautics

open access: yesThe Annals of “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati. Fascicle IX, Metallurgy and Materials Science, 2005
The laboratory experiments were made on the two aluminium alloyed qualities used for aeronautical industry. More working conditions of the intermediary (PTMI) and finally (PTMF) thermomechanical treatments were used on the industrial rolled test-specimen.

Thermomechanical treatment of reinforcing steel

open access: yesJournal of Mining and Metallurgy, Section B: Metallurgy, 2002
The work deals with application of interstand and after deformation cooling of coiled ( .10, 12 mm) and reinforcing ( .14,16 mm) bar steel in the accelerated cooling installations behind the prefinishing and finishing stands of the light-section mill which provides the formation of the even fine-grained ferrite-perlite structure and reduces grain ...
