Synergistic Multi‐Strategy Engineering of Temperature‐Responsive Self‐Trapped Excitons in Tin‐Based Double Perovskite Nanocrystals Enables High‐Sensitivity Fluorescence Thermometry

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Bi3+‐doped Cs2SnCl6 nanocrystals are engineered to deliver highly temperature‐responsive self‐trapped exciton emission, achieving record thermal sensitivity at elevated temperatures. A temperature‐induced dual‐STE excited state landscape enables reversible thermochromism, while a dual‐parameter calibration combining fluorescence lifetime and CIE‐y ...

Real‐World Evaluation of Bilateral Magnetic Resonance–Guided Focused Ultrasound Thalamotomy in Essential Tremor

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Magnetic resonance–guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS) thalamotomy is effective in treating essential tremor (ET) with an adequate safety profile. Objective The aim of the study was to evaluate the real‐world safety and efficacy of staged bilateral MRgFUS thalamotomy in ET and its impact on patient's quality of life (QoL) and patient‐

Novel {Pb6} wheels based zeolite‐type metal‐organic framework for wide temperature range and high sensitivity of luminescent thermometer

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
The expansion of {Pb6} wheels in zeolite‐type MOFs led to emission thermal quenching of 93%, relative sensitivity of 1.03% K−1 (intensity‐based) and 0.97% K−1 (lifetime‐based) in a wide temperature range of 298–423 K. Abstract The development of luminescent thermometers synchronously exhibiting high sensitivity and stability in a wide temperature range

Metrology for Quantum Hardware Standardization—Charting a Pathway: A Strategic Review

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, EarlyView.
Advances in quantum mechanics have long underpinned metrology by enabling practical realizations of units through quantum effects. With the 2019 SI revision, traceability is anchored in defined fundamental constants, reinforcing the quantum‐mechanical basis of modern standards. In parallel, quantum technologies are transitioning from laboratory science

All‐Optical Thermometry with Infrared Emitting Defects in Diamond

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research
Diamond color centers (optically active defects) can be used for all‐optical thermometry for non‐invasive and localized temperature measurements. The visible to near‐infrared photoluminescence of these defects is greatly attenuated in optical fibres and ...

Wave‐Velocity‐Based Temperature Monitoring Applied to Underground Power Cables in Medium‐Voltage Networks—Discrimination of Individual Cable Temperatures in a Distribution Grid

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The thermal state of underground power cables can be monitored based on the temperature dependency of the dielectric permittivity of the insulation material. The resulting temperature‐dependent wave velocity is used as a thermometric property. To this end, the signal propagation time along a cable of an injected signal is determined.

Magnetic Iron Oxide Nanoparticles Coated by Coumarin-Bound Copolymer for Enhanced Magneto- and Photothermal Heating and Luminescent Thermometry

open access: yesNanomaterials
In this work, we report on the synthesis and investigation of new hybrid multifunctional iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) coated by coumarin-bound copolymer, which combine magneto- or photothermal heating with luminescent thermometry.
