Accelerator Based Fusion Reactor [PDF]
A feasibility study of fusion reactors based on accelerators is carried out. We consider a novel scheme where a beam from the accelerator hits the target plasma on the resonance of the fusion reaction and establish characteristic criteria for a workable ...

Subcritical assembly with thermonuclear neutron source as device for studies of neutron-physical characteristics of thorium fuel [PDF]
A device for studies of neutron-physical characteristics of thorium fuel is described in this paper. The device consists of a thorium subcritical assembly combined with a source of fast neutrons. A long magnetic trap with injection of high energy neutral atoms into a plasma column serves as a source of thermonuclear neutrons.

Testing of the SOLPS-ITER code at Globus-M2 spherical tokamak with detached divertor
In according to a present understanding of Scrape-Off Layer (SOL) physics, future thermonuclear devices like ITER, DEMO and beyond, require high radiation regimes in order to reduce heat loads on tokamak divertor. Recent experiments at ASDEX Upgrade, JET

Abstract This study presents a validated design of a dual‐band wireless relay system of “pucks” for through‐ice communication between a cryobot and a surface lander during a future exploration of the Europan cryosphere. The design of a terrestrial demonstration system and the results of a 103 m through‐ice system test in a relevant environment near ...

Abstract The high voltage Padova test facility (HVPTF) is an experiment set in Padova, Italy, operating in the framework of the Neutral Beam Test Facility project of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER). One of the purposes of HVPTF is to study the phenomenology of discharge events occurring between electrodes at high voltage ...

Abstract We introduce a fast and invertible approximation for fusion plasma simulation data represented as 2D planar meshes with connectivities approximating magnetic field lines along the toroidal dimension in deformed 3D toroidal spaces. Scientific variables (e.g., density and temperature) in these fusion data are interpolated following a complex ...
