De Novo Multi‐Mechanism Antimicrobial Peptide Design via Multimodal Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Current AI‐driven peptide discovery often overlooks complex structural data. This study presents M3‐CAD, a generative pipeline that leverages 3D voxel coloring and a massive database of over 12 000 peptides to capture nuanced physicochemical contexts.

Thermophoretic tweezers for single nanoparticle manipulation

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2020
We present the trapping and manipulation of a single nano-object in an aqueous medium by optically induced temporally varying temperature gradients. By real-time object tracking and control of the position of the heating laser focus, we can precisely ...

Targeted Extracellular Vesicles Deliver Asiaticoside to Inhibit AURKB/DRP1‐Mediated Mitochondrial Fission and Attenuate Hypertrophic Scar Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Hypertrophic scar formation is driven by excessive mitochondrial fission in wound macrophages, which we discover is governed by a novel AURKB‐DRP1(Ser616) axis. The study develops a targeted therapy using cRGD‐decorated extracellular vesicles to deliver the natural compound Asiaticoside specifically to macrophages.

Buoyancy Effects on MHD Transport of Nanofluid Over a Stretching Surface With Variable Viscosity

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this mathematical study, the time-independent, incompressible, magneto-hydrodynamic nanofluid flow over a vertical stretching surface has been investigated. The impact of gravitational body forces along with convective boundary condition has also been

Label‐Free and Immobilization‐Free Protein‐Binding Assays by Ultraviolet Transient Absorption Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A femtosecond UV pump–probe microscope resolves binding‐induced changes in protein excited‐state dynamics and converts these intrinsic contrasts into an equilibrium affinity readout. By probing tryptophan responses directly in solution, the approach enables quantitative determination of dissociation constants without labeling or immobilization ...

A CLE11b‐CLE16 Signaling Relay Mediates Root‐Shoot‐Root Crosstalk for Drought Adaptation in Common Bean

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel root‐shoot‐root signaling relay, mediated by CLE peptides, coordinates drought adaptation in common bean. Root‐derived PvCLE11b translocates acropetally to leaves, inducing PvCLE16 expression via PvTCP10. Leaf‐accumulated PvCLE16 triggers stomatal closure and translocates basipetally to modulate root architecture.

Plant‐Derived Melatonin Inhibits Bacterial Virulence via CpxA/R Two‐Component System

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Plant‐derived melatonin is sensed by CpxAE48/T51, which inhibits the phosphorylation cascade transmission from CpxAH240 to CpxRD52, resulting in the inhibition of DNA‐binding capacity of CpxR and subsequent T3SS genes expression in Pst DC3000. ABSTRACT In defending against pathogens, plants deploy diverse secondary metabolites and signaling molecules ...

Numerical Simulation of Gravitactic Bioconvection with Nanoparticles: An Application of Solids Removal in Wastewater Using a Thermal Source

open access: yesMicromachines
The results of numerical simulations of gravitactic bioconvection influenced by nanoparticles suspended in water are analyzed. In this work, two cases are established which consider the removal of nanometric particles suspended in wastewater.
