Forming of Thermoplastic Composites
Key Engineering Materials, 2012Design and production guidelines for UD reinforced thermoplastic composites are highly desirable. Therefore, forming experiments and simulations with a realistic complex shaped product were conducted. Thermoforming experiments with quasi-isotropic UD carbon/PEEK and 8HS woven glass/PPS composites showed a clear difference in formability.

Rubber-Thermoplastic Compositions. Part II. NBR-Nylon Thermoplastic Elastomeric Compositions
Rubber Chemistry and Technology, 1980Abstract Thermoplastic elaslomeric compositions based on crosslinked NBR and nylon can be produced. A variety of nylons of differing melting points and NBR's of differing AN contents can be used in a broad range of proportions. The compositions can be further altered by the incorporation of fillers and plasticizers.

Processing of wood-thermoplastic composites
International Journal of Material Forming, 2009Natural and wood fibre plastic composites (WPC) are among the most rapidly growing markets within the plastics industry. They are manufactured by combining either wood or other natural fibers such as flax, hemp, jute or kenaf with polymers. Thermoplastic resins, such as polypropylene, polyethylene or polystyrene, are mixed with other materials (such as

Forming Limits of Thermoplastic Composites
Key Engineering Materials, 2014Defects and shape distortions can arise during thermoforming of thermoplastic composites. Design guidelines for thermoplastic composites can help to prevent such defects. The material selection and geometry definition are part of the design guidelines.

Graphene/Thermoplastic Based Composites
2020 IEEE Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena (CEIDP), 2020Mass-produced Graphene (GN) nanoplatelets provided by NanoXplore Inc, Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) copolymer and various grades of Polyethylene (PE), were used for the preparation of graphene-composites with single-phase and multi-phase polymer matrices. All the composites were prepared by melt-compounding using a twin-screw extruder.

Recycled Thermoplastic–Woodflour Composites
International Journal of Polymeric Materials, 1994Abstract In the present study, composite materials were prepared from recycled PE, PP and commingled plastics, and waste cellulosics, e.g., sawdust (woodflour) of maple wood. In order to establish the compatibility, the woodflour was surface modified by precoating with maleated thermoplastics.

Processing Thermoplastic Composites
1998Thermoplastic polymers are seldom converted into products without the time-dependent application of temperature, pressure, shear or other types of mechanical manipulation. The mechanical manipulation of plastics is called ‘polymer processing’. Many polymer processes and combinations of polymer processes are used in modern commercial manufacturing.
