Deformation of thermoplastic vulcanizates

Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids, 2001
Abstract The stress–strain behavior of thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) materials is studied experimentally; a constitutive model for the behavior is proposed and found to successfully predict the important features of the observed stress–strain behavior.

Thermodynamics of Deformation of Thermoplastic Vulcanizates

Polymer Science, Series A, 2020
The thermodynamic characteristics of deformation of thermoplastic elastomers obtained by the dynamic vulcanization of two crystallizable components polypropylene and ethylene-propylene-diene copolymer are studied by deformation calorimetry. The entropy and energy effects of deformation are determined for the original, oriented, and annealed (at 70°C ...

Rheology of thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs)

Journal of Rheology, 2020
Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) are a special class of polymer blends comprised of a thermoplastic polypropylene (PP) matrix and a dynamically vulcanized ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber. Due to the presence of crosslinked rubber particles, TPVs exhibit complex rheological fingerprints similar to those of soft elastic solids.

Rheological Behavior of Thermoplastic Vulcanizates

Macromolecular Symposia, 2012
AbstractSummary: Dynamic and steady shear rheological properties of dynamically vulcanized iPP/EPDM blends were investigated. Two different curing systems based on sulfur or phenolic resin were applied on iPP/EPDM blends. The use of phenolic resin system allows producing materials with lower viscosity at higher rubber content in comparison with sulfur ...

Thermoplastic dynamic vulcanizates

1999
Thermoplastic dynamic vulcanizates (TDV) belong to a novel family of thermoplastic rubbers. They are blends composed of thermoplastic resins and elastomers in which the fully or partially cured elastomer component is finely dispersed (mean particle size: 1–2 μm) in the thermoplastic matrix.
