Thermoresponsive dendritic oligoethylene glycols

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2022
Dendritic oligoethylene glycols show topological structure-dependent thermoresponsiveness to intriguingly encapsulate guests and there is a balance between the dehydrated and the hydrated molecules at elevated temperatures.

Thermoresponsive Corannulene

European Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
We demonstrate herein that corannulene, a bowl‐shaped polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, can assemble into larger supramolecular structures in water through a change in the solution temperature. This property is invoked through a simple five‐fold symmetric substitution of the corannulene nucleus with triethylene glycol units.

Thermoresponsive polysaccharides with tunable thermoresponsive properties via functionalisation with alkylamide groups

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2021
Polysaccharides have been used widely in many industries, from food technology and mining to cosmetics and biomedical applications. Over recent years there has been growing interest in the development of responsive polysaccharides with unique and switchable properties, particularly systems that display lower-critical solution temperatures (LCSTs ...

Thermoresponsive Supramolecular Dendronized Polymers

Chemistry – An Asian Journal, 2011
AbstractCombining the concepts of supramolecular polymers and dendronized polymers provides the opportunity to create bulky polymers with easy structural modification and tunable properties. In the present work, a novel class of side‐chain supramolecular dendronized polymethacrylates is prepared through the host–guest interaction.

Backbone-Thermoresponsive Hyperbranched Polyethers

Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2006
A new type of materials, the backbone-thermoresponsive hyperbranched polyether, was successfully synthesized by proton-transfer polymerization of 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether and various triols, and the lower critical solution temperature (LCST) values can be readily adjusted from 19.0 to 40.3 degrees C by changing the hydrophilic/hydrophobic ...

Thermoresponsive Gold Nanoparticles with Positive UCST‐Type Thermoresponsivity

Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, 2014
Trithiocarbonate end‐functionalized poly(N‐acryloylglycinamide) (PNAGA), synthesized via reversible addition–fragmentation transfer (RAFT) polymerization of different molecular weights, is grafted onto gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) by ligand exchange in phosphate‐buffered saline.

Thermoresponsive hydroxybutylated starch nanoparticles

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2019
Starch nanoparticles (SNPs) have been explored as promising new environmentally friendly materials for over a decade. On the other hand, thermoresponsive SNPs, which have potential novel applications in medicine, food and composites, have not yet been reported. Here we report the preparation and characterization of thermoresponsive SNPs. Hydroxypropyl (

Thermoresponsive amperometric glucose biosensor

Biointerphases, 2015
The authors report on the fabrication of a thermoresponsive biosensor for the amperometric detection of glucose. Screen printed electrodes with heatable gold working electrodes were modified by a thermoresponsive statistical copolymer [polymer I: poly(ω-ethoxytriethylenglycol methacrylate-co-3-(N,N-dimethyl-N-2-methacryloyloxyethyl ammonio ...

Engineering thermoresponsive polymeric nanoshells

Biomaterials, 2009
This study describes a family of hollow nanoscale constructs able to display a large and reversible change in size, within a narrow temperature interval. These thermoresponsive nanostructures are generated by crosslinking functionalized amphiphilic molecules, such as poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(propylene oxide)-poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-PPO-PEO ...

Thermoresponsive microgel-based materials

Chemical Society Reviews, 2009
With the continued development of thermoresponsive colloidal hydrogel particles, a number of groups have begun to exploit their properties to create dynamic materials self-assembled from those components. The fundamental details of how those building blocks are assembled, the component functionality, and the geometry or length-scales present in the ...
