Intra-abdominal thermosensitivity in the rabbit as compared with spinal thermosensitivity

In rabbits, intra-abdominal temperature sensors of the dorsal wall of the abdominal cavity were selectively stimulated by means of thermodes perfused with water of temperatures ranging from 12–50°C. Respiratory acceleration and vasodilatation of the skin could be elicited as thermoregulatory responses by intraabdominal warming.

A new class of nonpolymeric thermosensitive materials based on the benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxamide (BTC) structural platform are described. We observed that the benzocrown ether-substituted BTC derivatives undergo an unusual temperature-dependent reversible solubility change in aqueous solution.

Poly[Glc‐Asn(N‐isopropyl)] was degraded in vitro by cleavage of the ester bonds in the main chain in water at room temperature.

AbstractBackground  A 26‐year‐old male presented with a 3‐year history of lichen amyloidosis. On examination, there was a pigmented papular eruption with a ripple pattern affecting the limbs and trunk but sparing the axillae, antecubital and popliteal fossae, central chest, neck and face.

We demonstrate an extension of a UV-Vis spectroscopy method to determine the phase boundaries for thermosensitive colloids as an alternative to the time-consuming sedimentation method. The Bragg attenuation peak from colloidal crystallites was monitored during the quasi-equilibrium colloidal crystal melting.
