Molecular Dynamics‐Guided Sterol Engineering of mRNA‐Lipid Nanoparticles Reprograms Biodistribution and Enhances Spleen‐Selective Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sterol engineering enables precise control of mRNA lipid nanoparticles by tuning membrane organization. Replacing cholesterol with bile acid‐derived sterols redirects protein expression from the liver to the spleen. Notably, CA‐20 LNP enhances antigen‐specific immune responses while exhibiting a favorable safety profile, highlighting sterols as a ...

Demand Response From the Control of Aggregated Inverter Air Conditioners

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Inverter air conditioners (ACs) account for a large proportion of air conditioning loads in many countries and, thus, contribute significantly to the peak loads in these areas, especially in summer.

Pyrazole‐Derived Antibacterial Compounds Effectively Treat Methicillin‐Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus Infections by Inhibiting Aspartate Transcarbamoylase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study unveils a novel antibacterial mechanism against MRSA, in which the compound Py‐27 selectively targets and inhibits aspartate transcarbamoylase (ATCase), a key enzyme in pyrimidine synthesis. This inhibition disrupts DNA replication, induces oxidative damage, leading to potent bactericidal activity.

Nanovesicles With Mechanically Induced Adjuvanticity for Robust Melanoma Vaccination Toward Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rigidity‐tunable nanovesicle (P‐Pm) with mechanically induced adjuvanticity toward tumor‐associated macrophages (TAMs) was designed to engineer R848/gp100 antigen ‐loaded nanovaccine (P@Rg‐Pm), which achieved outstanding anti‐tumor outcomes in both therapeutic and preventive model of B16‐F10 melanoma.

Automatic Coordination of Internet-Connected Thermostats for Power Balancing and Frequency Control in Smart Microgrids

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
This paper proposes a novel feedback control strategy, so-called clock-like controller (CLC), to balance power supply and demand in smart microgrids by adjusting the setpoint temperatures of air conditioning (AC) loads.

An analytical characterisation of cold-load pickup oscillations in thermostatically controlled loads

open access: yes2013 Australian Control Conference, 2013
Large groups of thermostatically controlled loads can be controlled to achieve the necessary balance between generation and demand in power networks. When a significant portion of a population of thermostatically controlled loads is forced to change their on-off state simultaneously, the aggregate power demand of such population presents large ...

An Aggregation‐Induced Polymerization Poly(Disulfide)‐Drug Nanoplatform for Autoimmune Uveitis Therapy via Inhibiting the cGAS‐STING Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cationic poly(disulfide)‐drug nanoplatform (LA/DexP) was developed to treat experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU). With potent blood‐retinal barrier penetrability, LA/DexP releases DSP in response to high ROS and scavenges cfDNA to inhibit the cGAS‐STING signaling pathway.

Load curve smoothing strategy based on unified state model of different demand side resources

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2018
Renewable energy based distributed generation (DG) has the potential to reach high penetration levels in the residential region. However, its integration at the demand side will cause rapid power fluctuations of the tie-line in the residential region ...

Power system virtual inertia implemented by thermostatically controlled loads

open access: yesIET Smart Grid, 2020
It can be foreseen that the modern electric power system tends to have an increasing penetration of renewable energy sources (RESs) and controllable loads under ancillary services programmes, which will cause the power system inertia reduction.

Load management: Model-based control of aggregate power for populations of thermostatically controlled loads [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Large groups of electrical loads can be controlled as a single entity to reduce their aggregate power demand in the electricity network. This approach, known as load management (LM) or demand response, offers an alternative to the traditional paradigm in
