Evolution of N‐terminal mechanical lability as a determinant for Type III secretion
Abstract Many Gram‐negative pathogens critically depend on the Type III secretion system (T3SS) to inject effector proteins into host cells for colonization. Because the channel of the T3SS is narrow (~2 nm), effectors must be unfolded for secretion.

Emulsion type governed the microstructure and functionality of papers coated with biopolymers matrix loaded with hydrophobic bioactives encapsulated into O/W emulsions. Emulsified systems improved UV–Vis barrier and antioxidant activity, whereas gelatin coatings with conventional or Pickering emulsions provided the greatest mechanical reinforcement ...

Citizens' Preferences for Narrow and Broad Security Threats: Evidence From a New NATO Member State
ABSTRACT This study explores citizens' evaluations of competing security threats and prioritizes policy responses using data from Finland. Despite escalating geopolitical tensions and proximity to Russia, Finnish public opinion favors broader human security concerns, such as climate change and organized crime, over traditional military threats. Using a

Levetiracetam inhibits the Na+ HCO3− transporter Ncbe/NBCn2 (Slc4a10) in the choroid plexus of mice
ABSTRACT Aim The Na+‐dependent Cl−/HCO3− exchanger Ncbe/NBCn2 (Slc4a10) constitutes a major basolateral HCO3− uptake pathway in the choroid plexus and contributes to cerebrospinal fluid secretion and pH regulation. This study examined whether levetiracetam inhibits Ncbe/NBCn2‐mediated transport and alters cerebrospinal fluid acid–base balance ...
