Pressure-Retarded Osmosis Thermosyphon

open access: yesJournal of Solar Energy Engineering, 2018
The basis of a novel method for passive solar water heating homologous to the traditional thermosyphon but driven by salinity gradient induced by changes of salinity gradient induced by evaporation at the collector is outlined. Its purpose, likewise than a thermosyphon, is to simplify the transfer of liquid while avoiding the cost and complexity of a ...

Effect of Thermosyphon Limits on Design of A Taper Thermosyphon Drill for Dry Drilling Operation

open access: yes2020 IEEE 11th International Conference on Mechanical and Intelligent Manufacturing Technologies (ICMIMT), 2020
This paper focused on the effect of thermosyphon limits on the design of a taper thermosyphon drill for dry drilling operation. Although, other methods such as minimum quantity lubrication have been sought but the harmful effects of metal working fluids persist.

Complex Oscillations in a Closed Thermosyphon

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 1998
The dynamics of a closed thermosyphon are considered. Using an explicit construction, obtained through an inertial manifold, exact low-dimensional models are derived. The behavior of solutions is analyzed for different ranges of the relevant parameters, and the Lorenz model is obtained for a range of parameter values.

Thermosyphons with innovative technologies

Applied Thermal Engineering, 2017
Abstract Thermosyphons of the long length are of great interest for being used as heat exchangers for recuperation of alternative energy sources (solar radiation), geothermal energy recuperation and upgrading their potential with the aid of heat pumps.

Cooling of CPU with a thermosyphon

2008 Second International Conference on Thermal Issues in Emerging Technologies, 2008
In this study the tested evaporator is made from small blocks of copper with 11 vertical channels with a diameter of 2.5 mm and length of 30 mm. The riser and downcomer connected the evaporator to the condenser, which is cooled by air in free or forced convection.

Flexible cryogenic thermosyphon

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2012
Cryocooler and pulse tubes have been increasingly used in small and large scale cryogenic systems including the superconducting magnet systems as heat sinks to attain and keep the required temperatures. Designing the thermal link between the mechanical refrigerator and the system may present a challenge due to the mechanical stresses developed during ...
