The Development and Characterization of a Panel of Amine Dehydrogenases (AmDHs) and Amino Acid Dehydrogenases (AADHs)

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
The CoE‐AmDH panel enables sustainable access to chiral amines using diverse amine (AmDH) and amino acid dehydrogenases (AADH). Utilizing formate (FDH) or glucose dehydrogenase (GDH) for cofactor regeneration, this study establishes a robust screening platform for mild reductive aminations.

Root Development & Acquired Thermotolerance Regulatory Targets in Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yes, 2020
Thesis (Ph.D.)--University of Washington, 2020In this thesis, I will describe my work in two research topics using Arabidopsis thaliana: root development and acquired thermotolerance. 1.

Stress‐Resistant Symbiodiniaceae and Diverse Bacterial Communities Promote Coral Persistence in Variable, Multi‐Stressor Environments

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
Corals living in multi‐stressor bays in Curaçao maintain stress‐tolerant symbiotic algae and specialized bacterial communities in comparison to those in nearby reefs. These findings provide insight into how Caribbean coral holobionts persist in extreme and marginal conditions and may respond under future environmental conditions.

Low‐Dose H2O2 Priming Improves Performance Under Simulated Marine Heatwave Conditions in a Coastal Bivalve

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, Volume 10, Issue 6, June 2026.
Low‐dose hydrogen peroxide priming shapes Manila clam responses to simulated marine heatwaves, which showed faster burrowing behavior, limited transcriptional disruption, and reduced opportunistic microbiota. A long‐term field trial confirms no detectable adverse effects, supporting redox‐based chemical priming as a feasible resilience strategy in ...

Sporophytic and gametophytic components of thermotolerance affected by pollen selection

open access: yes, 1995
This study was undertaken to assess the effect of in vivo male gametophytic selection on components of thermotolerance in maize, The F-1 between a tolerant (Pa33) and a susceptible (B37) genotype was used as pollen source, Male gametophytic selection was

Forest type and leaf habit mediate thermal and drought tolerance across a tropical elevational gradient

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 6, Page 1933-1945, June 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Understanding how local climate patterns select for thermal and drought tolerance traits is needed to predict differential responses to climate change across complex ecosystems.

Putative membrane protein Cgl2168 and its variant enhance thermotolerance in Corynebacterium glutamicum

open access: yesSynthetic and Systems Biotechnology
Corynebacterium glutamicum ATCC 13032 is widely used as the chassis strain for industrial production of various amino acids, but its thermotolerance limits productivity under high temperatures.

Underexpression of apoplastic polyamine oxidase improves thermotolerance in Nicotiana tabacum

open access: yes, 2017
Polyamines (PAs) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), the product of PA oxidation by polyamine oxidase (PAO), are potential players affecting plant growth, development and responses to abiotic/biotic stresses.

Anoxia-induced thermotolerance in the locust [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Heat shock and anoxia are environmental stresses that are known to trigger similar cellular responses. In this study, we used the locust to examine stress cross-tolerance by investigating the consequences of a prior anoxic stress on the effects of a ...
