Efficient Separation of Thermus aquaticus EF-Tu Functional Complexes
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2001A new method for fast separation of the main functional complexes of the elongation factor Tu from Thermus aquaticus has been developed. Binary complexes EF-Tu * GDP and EF-Tu * GDPNP as well as the ternary complex EF-Tu * GDPNP * Leu approximately tRNA were separated from each other by means of HPLC on a hydrophobic sorbent TSK-Gel Phenyl 5PW in a ...

Electron image analysis of ribosomal subunits from Thermus aquaticus
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Gene Structure and Expression, 1992Electron micrographs of ribosomal subunits from the thermophilic bacterium Thermus aquaticus were analysed using multivariate statistical analysis and characteristic views constructed to reproducible spatial resolutions ranging from 1.9 to 3.6 nm. These views were comparable to morphological classes of Escherichia coli ribosomal subunits, albeit with ...

Inactivation of the 5′-3′ exonuclease of Thermus aquaticus DNA polymerase
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Gene Structure and Expression, 1995The gene for Thermus aquaticus (Taq) DNA polymerase enzyme (Taq Pol I) was mutagenized and sixty-two candidate clones were screened for enzyme activity. Two of the clones expressed enzymes (*Taq-3 and *Taq-5) that showed very reduced 5'-3' exonuclease activity and normal DNA polymerase activity.

GroEL-like Protein Complex of Thermophilic Bacterium Thermus aquaticus
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1993GroEL-like particles of Thermus aquaticus are homo-oligomeric complexes of two stacked seven member rings, sedimenting in the gradient at 20S. The apparent molecular mass of the native particles is 820,000 (+/- 30,000). The protein complex is composed with one polypeptide of M(r) 59,000.
