Heat activation of Phycomyces blakesleeanus spores: theromdynamics and effect of alcohols, furfural, and high pressure. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Bacteriol, 1979
The thermodynamic parameters for the heat activation of the sporangiospores of Phycomyces blakesleeanus were determined. For the apparent activation enthalpy (Δ H # ) a value of 1,151 kJ/mol was found, whereas a value of 3,644 J./°K·mol was calculated

Thermodynamic Effect on a Cavitating Inducer in Liquid Nitrogen

open access: yesVolume 2: Fora, 2005
For experimental investigations of the thermodynamic effect on a cavitating inducer, it is nesessary to observe the cavitation. However, visualizations of the cavitation are not so easy in cryogenic flow. For this reason, we estimated the cavity region in liquid nitrogen based on measurements of the pressure fluctuation near the blade tip.

Theromdynamics of Steroid Estrogen Sorption to Activated Sludge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Sorption is an important mechanism for removal of 17a-ethinylestradiol (EE2) in biological wastewater treatment. In an effort to deepen our understanding of this process, this work investigated the underlying thermodynamic parameters.

Mesoscopic modeling, experimental and thermodynamic approach for the prediction of agglomerates structures in granulation processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Wet granulation process requires the addition of a coating agent or binder, typically composed of surfactants, water, plasticizers and fillers. In dry granulation however, the coating agent is added to the system in the form of fine solid particles.

Integrated process and solvent design for C0 2 removal from natural gas

open access: yes, 2007
Carbon dioxide (C02) capture is of crucial importance for the environment. A large number of countries agreed on the fact that greenhouse gases, especially C02 can have harmful effects leading to major climate changes; in particular, since the ...

Regulation der Protein-Homöostase durch das Co-Chaperon Tpr2 [PDF]

open access: yes
Die Erhaltung der Protein-Homöostase ist essentiell für die Funktion einer jeden Zelle. Molekulare Chaperone regulieren dabei ein sensibles Gleichgewicht aus Proteinabbau und -faltung.
