2‐Pyrazoline‐5‐One Derivative Suppresses Cell Proliferation and Induces Apoptosis With Upregulation of Bax in Breast Cancer Cells

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 7, July 2026.
2‐Pyrazoline‐5‐one derivative inhibits proliferation and migration and induces Bax‐mediated apoptosis in breast cancer cells. ABSTRACT The most common cancer in women worldwide is still breast cancer. Among its subtypes, luminal A and triple‐negative breast cancers present significant therapeutic challenges due to intrinsic drug resistance and absence ...

Servingness fractured and labored: A Latina's journey of negotiating belongingness under the guise of a Hispanic‐Serving Institution

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Education, Volume 115, Issue 3, July 2026.
Abstract Background Students who perceive a mismatch between their disciplinary environment and their values, beliefs, and “fit” may lead them to consider other fields that better align with their ways of being and sense of belonging. Purpose The purpose of this study was to demonstrate the complexities of establishing a sense of belonging for a Latina

Tracing methane sources in shallow waters of the North Sea: Biogenic signatures and hydrocarbon transport near abandoned wells

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Numerous abandoned wells in the North Sea may provide gas, particularly methane (CH4), migration pathways by penetrating shallow, biogenic gas accumulations. However, related sampling campaigns have been largely contradictory and lack a substantial database. Research cruise MSM98 targeted the abandoned wells B18‐1, DOK 1‐X, B11‐2, THOR and D‐1

Copepod community structure and physiological rates shape the biological pump during early North Atlantic spring bloom

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Zooplankton plays an important role in the biological carbon pump, and zooplankton biomass and community structure can have a large influence on the sedimentation/remineralization balance of the water column. We investigated the potential effects of zooplankton community structure and eco‐physiology on the export and attenuation of vertical ...

Cirsium arvense management with electrical weed control and clopyralid

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6575-6584, July 2026.
Electrical weed control (EWC) treatments reduced Cirsium arvense biomass by ≤95% and suppressed new shoot emergence by 70–95%, achieving control comparable to clopyralid. Sequential or integrated applications enhanced efficacy, demonstrating EWC's potential as a nonchemical tool for perennial weed management in orchard systems.

Does the total consumption model apply to cannabis use?

open access: yesAddiction, Volume 121, Issue 7, Page 1721-1730, July 2026.
Abstract Aims To test whether the total consumption model and its extension, the theory of collectivity, apply to adolescent cannabis use. We estimated: (1) whether the distribution of cannabis use frequency was stable over time; (2) whether changes in average cannabis use were mirrored across consumption quantiles; and (3) whether higher average use ...
