Some theta-function identities
Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2007Using an identity obtained in an earlier paper [\textit{B. Srivastava}, Kyungpook Math. J. 45, 603--607 (2005; Zbl 1101.11005)] the author derives new theta-function identities. One of these leads to another proof of the classical formula for the number of representations of a positive integer as a sum of two squares.

The Ramanujan Journal, 2001The residue theorem is applied with ingenuity to elliptic functions to prove some identities of Ramanujan as well as some new identities. The idea is simply to use the fact that the sum of the residues of an elliptic function in a period parallelogram is zero. We quote two of the many results obtained.

SOME INVERSE RELATIONS AND THETA FUNCTION IDENTITIES
International Journal of Number Theory, 2012Two pairs of inverse relations for elliptic theta functions are established with the method of Fourier series expansion, which allow us to recover many classical results in theta functions. Many nontrivial new theta function identities are discovered. Some curious trigonometric identities are derived.
