Recent physiological studies have implicated theta - a high-amplitude 4-8 Hz oscillation that is prominent in rat hippocampus during locomotion, orienting and other voluntary behaviors - in synaptic plasticity, information coding and the function of working memory. Intracranial recordings from human cortex have revealed evidence of high-amplitude theta

Theta theory explores the lexicon as an interface in the strict sense, as facilitating the flow of informaiton between cognition and the computational system of language. It argues for the traditional concept of a listed lexicon, where semantic roles are encoded as features of verbs, and against event decomposition.

Premature temporal theta (PT theta).
Electroencephalography and clinical neurophysiology, 1987A distinctive pattern called premature temporal theta (PT theta) was studied in 436 infants, ranging in age from 24 to 46 weeks. The pattern is seen in early prematurity, maximizes at 29-31 weeks and then diminishes and disappears near term. Usually the pattern is found independently on both temporal areas, but with a right-sided preference.

Thirty-six patients had a midline theta rhythm in the electroencephalogram that consisted of a train of rhythmic waveforms in the theta frequency range (4 to 7 Hz), which occurred as a focal rhythm in the midline leads and was usually most prominent in the central vertex lead.

Theta series on the theta group
Abhandlungen aus dem Mathematischen Seminar der Universität Hamburg, 1988This paper is a continuation of a similar study for the Hecke groups \(G(\sqrt{2})\) and \(G(\sqrt{3})\) [Math. Z. 197, 69--96 (1988; Zbl 0632.10024)]. It contains a complete description of all modular forms f on subgroups of the theta group \(\Gamma_{\tau}\) which satisfy: (1) \(f\) is a sum of modular forms of integral weight and different multiplier

On \(\theta\)-connectedness and \(\theta\)-closure spaces
2002If \((X,{\mathcal T})\) is a topological space and \(A\subseteq X\), then the \(\theta\)-closure of \(A\), denoted by cl\(_\theta(A)\) is the set \(\{x:\) each closed neighbourhood of \(x\) meets \(A\}\). A set \(C\) is \(\theta\)-closed if \(C=\text{ cl}_\theta(C)\); the \(\theta\)-closed sets form the closed sets of a topology called the \(\theta ...
