Theta divisors of stable vector bundles may be nonreduced

open access: yes, 2015
18 pages. Appendix by Christian Pauly.A generic strictly semistable bundle of degree zero over a curve X has a reducible theta divisor, given by the sum of the theta divisors of the stable summands of the associated graded bundle.

A log resolution for the theta divisor of a hyperelliptic curve

open access: yes
In this paper, we prove that the theta divisor of a smooth hyperelliptic curve has a natural and explicit embedded resolution of singularities using iterated blowups of Brill-Noether subvarieties. We also show that the Brill-Noether stratification of the

On a Divisor Modular Form and a Theta Lift

open access: yes
In 1975, Zagier introduced the highly influential hyperbolic Poincaré series $f_{k,D}$. We connect the divisor modular form of $f_{k,D}$ to a new weak Maass form $ω_{k+1,D}$. Furthermore, we show that the generating function of $ω_{k+1,D}$ has the same modularity properties as Kohnen and Zagier's fruitful theta kernel generating the $f_{k,D}$'s.

Polynomial Analogs of Theta Functions and Rational Solutions of the KP Equation

open access: yes
<p>In this paper we classify the singular curves whose theta divisors in their generalized Jacobians are algebraic, meaning that they are cut out by polynomial analogs of theta functions.

Diviseur Theta et Formes Differentielles

open access: yes, 2010
In this papers, we study the geometric and arithmetic properties of the theta divisor associated to the sheaf of locally exact differential forms over a curve in positive characteristic.
