Identities involving mock theta functions and theta functions
Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2023In this paper, we first present new representations for several mock theta functions. In view of the sign flips on these identities, some interesting results involving theta functions are established by new Bailey pairs and Watson’s 8 ϕ 7 _8\phi _7 transformation ...

Jacobi’s Triple-Product Identity and an Associated Family of Theta-Function Identities
Mathematical Notes, 2022The main object of this paper is to present a family of $q$-series identities which involve some of the theta functions of Jacobi and Ramanujan. Each of these (presumably new) $q$-series identities reveals interesting relationships among three of the theta-type functions which stem from the celebrated Jacobi's triple-product identity in a remarkably ...

Some theta-function identities
Applied Mathematics and Computation, 2007Using an identity obtained in an earlier paper [\textit{B. Srivastava}, Kyungpook Math. J. 45, 603--607 (2005; Zbl 1101.11005)] the author derives new theta-function identities. One of these leads to another proof of the classical formula for the number of representations of a positive integer as a sum of two squares.

Integral Transforms and Special Functions, 2016
ABSTRACTLiu [An extension of the quintuple product identity and its applications. Pacific J Math. 2010;246:345–390] established a theta function identity. In this paper, we will give an equivalent form of Liu's identity, from which some non-trivial identities on circular summation of theta functions are deduced.

Partition identities arising from theta function identities [PDF]
This paper is devoted to a study of the combinatorics of identities that generally have the form \[ f(q) + f(-q) = g(q) \] or \[ f(q) - f(-q) = qh(q), \] where \(f(q)\) is some infinite product which is essentially a modular function. The motivation is one such identity of \textit{H. M. Farkas} and \textit{I. Kra} [Contemp. Math.
